Charter Option Overtakes Kansas City Public Schools

Once again locals vote with their feet and another long suffering Kansas City institution suffers another setback . . .

Importantly . . .

Kansas City Public Schools still provide funding and maintain a limited amount of oversight BUT for the most part charter schools operate independently. 

Here's a peek at the local preference for this model and what could be the beginning of the end for KCPS . . .

"Of the more than 26,500 K-12 students who attended either KCPS or a charter school within the district’s boundaries near the end of September, a slight majority attends one of 20 charter schools."
