Actually, the streets of The Country Club Plaza are adorned with Pride flags as the patrons who have returned to the embattled entertainment district don't seem to mind one bit.
On a hot June day very few people seemed to notice the banners at all.
Posted merely as a sign of the times and a remarkable cultural shift for the nation's first outdoor mall and one of the most iconic locales in Kansas City which dates back more than 100 years.
