Amid allegations of criminal activity, drug use and public health concerns. Today the denizens of a Midtown Kansas City homeless camp posted a cry for help.
We notice more volunteers coming to the aid of the camp and construction continues on more permanent structures.
Again, the eviction deadline is tonight at Sundown.

The people "helping" them build up this camp aren't really doing them any favors.

They're just sheep . . . or at best . . . of that personality type that cannot exist without following the deluded "leader" of the moment.

ReplyDeleteOdd place to set up a homeless camp in KC unless you want publicity or to be hit by a car. There are other parks in KC that would be much safer and peaceful to pitch a tent in.

ReplyDeleteThe non profits in KC that claim to help with homelessness and domestic violence all embezzle money. I used to date someone who worked at one. They would take multiple expensive vacations every year and lived in a half million dollar home. Very little of the money and resources actually went to help the homeless.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry for the homeless and help them quite often due to my job. But they keep saying they want a house (who is going to pay for it), a seat at the table (what table?) What they need to ask for is mental health care they can get quickly, employment, and then they could have what they want... I drive by this everyday and it drives me crazy because where the putting their trash, going to the bathroom and other daily normal tasks...

DeleteYes they are homeless but they are also protesting since they refuse to go to a shelter and have planted themselves in the middle of a busy intersection instead of a quiet park. What are they protesting? The ridiculous cost of housing in KC ? The lack of good employment opportunities in KC? The skyrocketing crime in KC? Please tell the Mayor who does not seem to give a flip.

ReplyDeleteMorning Star church/ development has a ton of empty houses they own aroumd KC on East Side. Frank Whites Church. The minister is John Modest Miles, one of the Clinton democratic cell transplants. Why doesn't his church give\ sell some homes for homeless to live in. Unless he is saving them for Biden's immigrants.Someone close to down town should start hanging out at the downtown bus depots. You'll see the immigrants getting off of them and see who is greeting them and orchestrating their disbursement into KC. Cameras and footage!!!

ReplyDeleteI just am wondering when this is going to be dealt with. I am all for the homeless staying there when it was negative 18 degrees and snowing - but it is summer now. It is time to move along - this is WESTPORT for christ's sake! Not skid row in LA. Someone needs to do something about this soon or a certain someone probably won't win reelection / senate seat. It just seems like this is not being taken seriously by anyone except the people that PAY for housing and apartments that are (even more) scared to walk to their cars at night. This is just ridiculous and makes 0 sense to have a homeless camp in the middle of westport. What will the tourists think?
