KSHB: Kansas City, Kansas, fire department seeks minority recruits

The department received a $2.3 million grant last year to add 18 firefighters. The initial pool of candidates included 48% minority or female candidates but when the candidates were selected after written, physical and background checks, only 32% were minorities and none were female, Chief Callahan said Thursday in a news release.
In response, the department plans to eliminate past marijuana use as an automatic disqualifier. Callahan noted marijuana use is illegal in Kansas and not allowed within the department but past usage will not immediately eliminate potential candidates.

ReplyDeleteStandards have been lowered for engineers, doctors and other professions due to the same IQ issues. Hell every dumb ass kid thinks he should go to college. Some of us are big, small and unfortunately dumb. It is dangerous to lower standards because some just cannot measure up. This woke shit is getting dangerous. F--king Karencrats.

Minority's get special treatment in the federal government and it's not fair when they can't do their job and someone else gets the shaft who is way more experienced. Whites can file discrimination too. Time to fight back. Hire the most qualified, that's how it is suppose to work. I'm sick of this racism and hate against white people.
I doubt that not barring applicants for occasional marijuana use will lower standards very far. It might just raise them.

ReplyDeleteand 4:31, mr race race race , a counterpoint is, gosh, here in kck public safety (i.e. police dept and fire dept) are as high as 65% of budget, so is it not reasonable for a request that fire dept salaries can be a benefit to all parts of the community if at all possible ? lilly white fire stations don't do you any good, do they?
In a few years they'll accept applications with felonies, even ones who've spent time in prison. It'll happen.
