TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! BLUE LINE BAR LAUNCHES LAWSUIT AGAINST NEW KANSAS CITY COVID-19 CURFEW RULES!!! MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS SPELL CHECKS & CALLS COMPLAINT SLOPPY!!!

The Kansas City mayor's initial response to legal resistance that our blog community noted a couple of weeks ago . . .

"Can’t even get my name spelled right..."

He offered a bit more detail later . . .

“To contend that we don’t care, we aren’t cognizant of it misses the mark entirely,” Lucas said. “However, we want people to be alive, we want people to be safe, and that’s why these orders exist.”

The crux of the lawsuit . . .

The Blue Line Kansas City says the restrictions, which require bars and restaurants to close by 10 p.m., has cost it about 40% of its monthly revenue.

The bar claims that if it is forced to close at 10 p.m. instead of 3 a.m., it will be forced to lay off staff or close its doors.

The Blue Line said it has been safely operating, requiring patrons and staff to wear masks and adhering to 50% capacity during the pandemic. In addition, the bar said that it pays a premium to the city and state for a liquor license that allows it to serve food and alcohol until 3 a.m. The bar also argues that casinos, liquor stories, movie theaters and other stores are allowed to stay open past 10 p.m.
