COVID-19 has caused horrific economic suffering, loss of life and political upheaval.
The "dark days" of Winter look pretty dire and there honestly aren't very many reasons to laugh as of late . . . Even at Kevin Hart's hoe daughter.
With the EXCEPTIONAL exception of TOP PHOTO GUY most of the comments stopped making us laugh years ago . . . Yet we persist. For now.
Despite it all, KC is still a very a wonderful place and there are a lot of reasons to laugh in ways that don't involve hypocritical partisan mockery. Sadly, right now most of the jokes about this town that come to mind are cruel, caustic and possibly a crime under the new administration . . . Nevertheless, the collapse of Democracy and the ensuing slap fight will keep us entertained.
And so, we WON'T encourage readers to laugh . . . We simply hope that our late night denizens will take it easy and maybe crack a smile under that mask one of these days.

The presidential candidates were clowns, our inept gay mayor, BLM and their demands, faggots everywhere, the Paseo, the Super Bowl parade, Jean Petersucker Baker, our new murder record. There's lots of things to laugh about in KC; 800 room convention hotel in a pandemic, streetcars - anytime, more hotel rooms on the Plaza, Power and Light which will never be paid for, new KCI when the airlines are broke, illegal change of street names, the Jazz District which is just a vortex suck for cash, the 421st study of traffic on St. John Avenue, and, my personal favorite, a downtown baseball stadium. Who can't giggle?

There is no "his" DOJ or FBI, or any other federal agency. Trump like any President appoints the director, and some senior officers, but the agencies are really run by career bureaucrats who can't be fired or disciplined, resist all efforts to direct them and answer only to themselves.
