Here's the aftermath of a letter sent to the Parks Board today which keeps MLK tribute on the East Side rather than the 63rd street East-West alternative that had garnered a bit of support in recent conversations.
Checkit . . .
"The Rev. Vernon Howard, president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Greater Kansas City, proposed renaming a route that includes Blue and Swope parkways and Volker Boulevard."
In a letter to Parks Commissioner Chris Goode, Howard wrote:
“This artery assures direct exposure of the iconic Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd to black lives, more particularly black children, who suffer the most in our city from a lack of African-American cultural and historical landmarks and education that bolster their sense of value, esteem and worth.”

Just rename something already you indecisive bastards!

DeleteSeems like a good plan that will get support. Hope that the KC Parks Board considers it.
ReplyDeleteMLK was an adulterer. What happened to #METOO...? Oh wait that was so 2019.
ReplyDelete^^^Sad but true.100% facts.
DeleteMLK > better than the Ayatollah. Down with the bloody dictator!
ReplyDeleteBring it Blumpkin
Deletei need george lincoln rockwell blvd, he was way better than that pock marked plagarist , he was a ww2 commander
ReplyDeleteJohn Miles, Emanuel Cleaver and old-assed Kenneth Ray - I thought he was dead.. all on the sclc letterhead. In fact, hoped as much. Now, we clearly see Howard for the fraud he is.
ReplyDeleteIT'S ALL ABOUT A PERSON'S PRIORITIES
ReplyDeleteWhile this is the headline that matters:
KANSAS CITY 2020 HOMICIDE #128 & 129: DEADLY DOUBLE SHOOTING IN EAST BOTTOMS TUESDAY NIGHT!!!
Some "leaders" are still fighting the battle they already lost over the renaming of a street:
“This artery assures direct exposure of the iconic Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd to black lives, more particularly black children, who suffer the most in our city from a lack of African-American cultural and historical landmarks and education that bolster their sense of value, esteem and worth.” -- The Rev. Vernon Howard
Celebrating a guy that hated homosexuals. That doesn't seem very KC considering the huge LGBT population and the current BLM movement alignment of the LGBT crowd. How funny the History we forget or learn about a Man via of others that were not around then.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, it's about the money. Whores like the fake African/American Kamala. They demand to be in the economic improvement zone. They claimed during The Paseo battle, when east side streets were suggested, that people were trying to "hide them". Then when offered primo JC Nichols, they turned it down because it was too white. Now they settle on the most obscure of all the options (which is fine with me) that happens to be back in the economic improvement zone. Hypocritical whores. I'd say name the damn street and let's shut up about it, but it won't be enough. They'll want more. At least whores do the deed and move on.
ReplyDelete^^Who do you think is the bigger whore though, Melania or Kamala. I say Melania, because she used to give $5 blow jobs back in Russia.
ReplyDeleteChimpers/7:34, you PAY to give handjobs & bjs to the other smelly apes. So, back to alley, bum monkey.

Before the city agrees to the request, make the reverends commit to MLK's statement that the content of one's character is what counts, and not the color of one's skin.
ReplyDeleteBecause BLM and critical race theory insist that the opposite is true. Make the reverends choose a side.
Good that there's finally going to be a Martin Luther Kíng Blvd. Can everyone just shut up about MLK? Or at least learn the difference between him and Malcolm X? I've noticed that many blacks glorify MLK, while açting according to Malcolm X.
ReplyDeleteseems ok. or 47th street where it actually passes across a city park MLK park, not used too much because so sunny, but still, a park named after Dr King.
ReplyDeleteand the city can use the long street signs from paseo. and if they kept paseo signs in a shed somewhere, then those can be re used. maybe all will be satisfied and the bruises and egos can heal with time. because after all it is not a big deal if it is this street instead of paseo, and people liked "paseo" so after all, let the people speak on this one. that is all.
Anybody out there think this will be the end of it?
