TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY DEMAND FOR 'LOCAL CONTROL' OF KCPD COMING SOON TO EPIC NOVEMBER 2020 BALLOT!!!
The aftermath of the Kansas City police crackdown on protesters, rioters and looters will be political retribution working its way toward the same election showdown that will determine the political fate of Prez Trump.
To wit . . .
FIRST ON TKC: BEHIND THE SCENES, KANSAS CITY IS MOVING TOWARD A NOVEMBER VOTE ON POLICE "LOCAL CONTROL" TO COINCIDE WITH RECORD TURNOUT & MAIL-IN VOTES FOR THE PREZ TRUMP REELECTION DECISION!!!
Again, savvy readers remind us that KC already has local control via the Mayor's position as police Commish and we're really talking about "City Hall Control"- The same 12th & Oak management that governs the litany of potholes & steel plates on local streets. Even worse, there's a school of thought which claims this move won't affect police pensions. For now that might be correct but when speaking on this topic not so long ago, former Councilman Ed Ford assured a crowd of hundreds that those pensions would quickly fall under KCMO authority when "local control" was finally achieved.
Credit where it's due, KMBC recently reported that Kansas City's Urban League called for local control of the Kansas City Police Department during a virtual town hall meeting.
However, that's just part of the effort and City Hall insiders reveal Mayor Q planning to increase his cable TV face time with interviews that include conversations about the local control effort with Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon and possibly an audience with Prez Trump's only real challenger . . . Anderson Cooper.
In the aftermath of recent #BlackLivesMatter protests over the death of George Floyd, there is plenty of grassroots support for dramatic KCPD change from younger voters, the local African-American bloc and progressives.
The political reality is clear: November 2020 is the best chance to win so-called "local control" over KCPD . . .
Whereas, If Prez Trump wins, the GOP keeps the Senate and the Democratic Party endures a soul crushing defeat . . . It'll be at least 4 years before this topic could be renewed. If ever again.
Developing . . .
it's time to vote on this once and for all.
ReplyDeleteI think you mean.
DeleteVote NO on this once and for all.
There, fixed that for you.
^^^ True. It's not a slam dunk. If you think so, just remember that MLK vote. That didn't work out the way people thought.
DeleteGays talking.
ReplyDeletePeople without jobs eating EBT card snacks spitting out welfare babies getting their way. F__k them.
ReplyDeleteThe actions of the Chief and Mayor past few days clearly show how this is a bad idea to allow local control of.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter who controls a failed organization. It will still remain a failure.
ReplyDeleteand yet it's not a failure at all while you certainly are. Evidenced by your presence here. Weird.
ReplyDeleteThe police are under state control and if they weren’t the city would have burned, they got their guidance from the state and that’s the only thing that saved kc. Period.
ReplyDeleteState KCPD control under Governor Parsons saved the Plaza or it would have been burned to the ground under Lucas as he would have ordered the police to stand down.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe Kansas City citizens voted to raise their taxes again. 12% sales tax in KC plus 1% earnings tax plus KC water bills are five times higher than local municipalities and the citizens want more taxes.
What a stupid city. It deserves to fail. There is nothing attractive about Kansas City anymore other than crime and high taxes.
CNN's Anderson Cooper's mother's side of the family is the Vanderbilt family.
ReplyDeleteThe Vanderbilt family enslaved Italian, Irish and Polish immigrants as well as African Americans and Asians to build their railroad empire. Now Anderson Cooper is preaching to these very same people on how to live as his family enjoys their $ billions. Typical Democrat elitist.
"City Hall Control"
ReplyDeleteOh jeezuz just when you thought things couldn't get any worse
African American families are fleeing Kansas City as fast as whites as they don't want their children to go to Kansas City public schools or live in crime. However, I do not understand why they continue to vote for Democrats after experiencing first hand the failure of Democrat Party policies.
ReplyDelete^^and yet not one word you said is true and backed up by an actual fact. You're a fake poster. Weird.
ReplyDelete7:56 struck a nerve with 8:00 it is true dummy, blacks are flocking to raytown, independence, blue springs, nkc and lee’s summit. Those are facts. To deny that would be racist. But here’s the kicker, blacks are starting to vote republican, I guess you’ve been Trumped! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteNot weird anymore.
So, if the KCPD falls to City Hall will they be turned into a bunch of rainbow sash wearing, social justice warriors ticketing people for their white privilege. One more reason to stay out of KC.
ReplyDelete7:53: And yet your ad hominem attack is irrelevant and erroneous. The Vanderbilt fortune evaporated years ago. Weird.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteSo in other words they want police to let black people go around and do what they want to do. Kill steal and destroy and the police are to do nothing. That's what this is all about.
^^and yet not one thing you said is based in reality in any shape or form. Typical geezer loser. Weird.
ReplyDelete8:13 - Please tell how a billionaire fortune just "evaporates" ?
ReplyDeleteTransferred to the Cayman Islands or other offshore accounts to avoid U.S. taxes to fund the social justice programs Anderson Cooper and you so advocate that working Americans fund?
We know you like to dress in drag like Anderson Cooper and that is the basis for your strong support of Cooper and CNN while ignoring facts regarding his family's history of entitlement and "white privilege".
8:33 that's because you're too stupid to admit facts.
ReplyDelete^^But you seem really lonely and bored to be this concerned about people you'll never know. Maybe if you weren't such an awful human being, you would have something better to do? Do better CHUD.
ReplyDeleteThe closing of Texas Tom's began the demise of Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteTOP PHOTO -- THE DAY AFTER
ReplyDeleteQ: What do you call a meeting between Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper, and Quinton Lucas?
A: QUEER EYE KCMO!!!
8:36: Do your own research, CHUD. If I'm wrong, present your case. Otherwise, get to work cleaning up that mess around your trailer.
ReplyDeleteDeliver control of KCPD into the hands of the people who tried to change the name of The Paseo to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard? Without even asking the people who reside there? No way. It would be a disaster.
ReplyDeleteBlacks won't forget what Joe Biden did to Clarence Thomas nor the 1994 crime bill he voted for that incarcerated blacks at alarming rates. More of them are moving over to Trump because he brings jobs to them. Unweird
ReplyDelete8:13 / 9:11 (Chud guy) is wrong again. He says the Vanderbilt fortune "evaporated" but cannot explain his statement or provide facts.
ReplyDeleteHere's more facts for you regarding Kansas City's population that you disputed:
1970 - Kansas City was the 19th largest city in the U.S.
2020 - Kansas City is the 38th largest city in the U.S.
1970 - Kansas City population 507,000
2020 - Kansas City population 491.000
While the nations population increased by 50% from 1970 to 2020; Kansas City's population experience negative growth of minus 3%.
1970 Kansas City Sales Tax Rate - 4%
ReplyDelete2020 Kansas City Sales Tax Rate - 12%
Vote YES for local control.
ReplyDeleteWith crime in KCMO skyrocketing we need local control.
ReplyDeleteThe increase in sales taxes over the last several decades is why paychecks don't go as far as they used to. It's crushing people financially and needs to stop.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with this is that a Kansas City Vote on this doesn't change anything!
ReplyDeleteThe KCPD was placed under State Control by a State Law, and that can change ONLY BY A CHANGE IN THAT STATE LAW.
This shit is the equivalent of a hill of Pissants voting to outlaw Insecticide!
9:25: WTF? Your trailer still leaking?
ReplyDeleteUntil KCMO can do a good job managing its own affairs it should not be allowed to assume new responsibilities.
ReplyDeleteLucas and any other democratic would have let the city burn. Very little damage compared to other democratic cities. Vote for city control and watch your city burn.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Biden campaign is promising to put up bail money to people arrested. These were not the peaceful protesters who were arrested but the buttheads who decided to throw a frozen water bottle at officers, loot or something much worse. Joe Biden must believe in anarchy and the destruction of law enforcement and property. Just when I thought the Democratic leaders couldn't embarrass the political party any worse, Joe Biden proves me wrong. He needs to go back to his basement and talk to his "twin brother" in the mirror some more.
ReplyDeleteLocal control would be a big mistake and make this city even more dangerous than it already is!
ReplyDelete@9:56am is right on the money.
ReplyDeleteKCMO police control is governed by Missouri state law.
And this whole "discussion" is just another example of the complete lack of knowledge and understanding of the actual issues involved by the know-nothings marching around and making demands.
The KCMO Police Board is composed of KCMO RESIDENTS who have been nominated by KCMO ELECTED OFFICIALS and appointed by the governor.
The notion that somehow the police are managed out of Jeff City is the height of low-information nonsense.
If any KCMO residents really want their police department "managed" by the laughable electeds at city hall who would then be intimidated and jerked around by the clueless protesting marching crowd, they really need to ask themselves what exciting urban environment will be coming to neighborhoods very very near them.
Clueless nonsense.
The police should have never been called out. The plaza merchants all came out in support of the protest. Merchants want to appease the protest let em. Save the state tax dollars and let the protest supporting merchants take the hit for looting and destruction.
ReplyDelete^^Everyone supports the protesters except old white people and they don't matter at all so....
ReplyDeleteState control has not worked and has been a mistake for decades.
ReplyDelete33% increase in crime, time for local control.
ReplyDelete1053 seems right.
ReplyDeleteIn ranking of looting and rioting KC would at the bottom, so the lack of local control could be good thing. Because many big city mayors were afraid of political fallout to stop rioting. Vote NO on local control.
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious a large swath of the younger generation doesn't know right from wrong. Maybe they were thrown into overcrowded preschools that never covered the subject, or their parents were too busy looking at their phones when they were toddlers. You don't damage property, steal from others and break other laws unless you're missing something inside your cranium. Trying to justify it just looks pitiful.
ReplyDeleteHow about local control over our hood rats? Maybe if we improved that, we would get local control over KCPD. As it is, our city government can’t even fix potholes, let alone a police department.
ReplyDeleteCIVIL WAR IN LIBERAL CITIES = LIBERALS WILL ALL DIE IS THAT SO BAD
ReplyDelete925 LOOK AROUND YOU THESE ARENT REPUBLICANS RUNNING THAT GHETTO
ReplyDeleteOk then, let the city control the police. Then Missouri legislator should make it a law so that every law-abiding resident in K.C. and only those that have voted republican have an AR-15 or equivalent in their homes.
ReplyDeleteThe KCMO police department and fire department use the city budget as a cash cow. Neither show up for "safety" issues. The police don't even bother leaving the station; and fire only leave the station to go to Price Chopper. (the words of the individual unions, actually)
ReplyDeleteCrime has been going up for years, we need local control.
ReplyDeleteVote Yes for local control.
With all the screaming, shouting, yelling, enough spittle was in the air to effectively spread covid throughout the rioters and sjws. May not need guns in about 5 weeks.
ReplyDelete2:25 we need a prosecutor who’ll put people in jail. Petersucker hands out probation to murderers like it’s candy, she’s the whole problem with the crime surge since 2011 which coincidentally is when she was hired.
ReplyDeleteLocal control of KCPD is inevitable so stop bitching. The department has become ineffective in the fight to reduce crime. Measure the department using any metric and see that they are a drain on taxpayers. This is not an attack on officers who truly did set out to change the world, this is a criticism of the leadership of the department who don’t care about the city and just want to collect a check.
ReplyDeleteThis is stupid. There is no need for a KCMO-wide vote. Missouri legislature should step up, do the right thing, and vote to divest responsibility for KCMOPD. It should have been done at the same time they did it for STLSPD.
ReplyDeleteKCMOPD remains now the only municipal police department in the US that is controlled by the State government.
Who cares one way or the other. Kansas City and other Democrat cities are endless shitholes.
ReplyDelete100 years from now, the same bitching, victim hood, screams of racism, looting, rioting etc will still be an issue like it has been since 1865.
Frankly no one gives a shit anymore.
We need law and order not disorder.
ReplyDelete@2:59, and Kansas City is the only City that still needs for its Police Department to be controlled by the State!
ReplyDeleteBad idea for city control. Those for city control only want to abuse the Police Department or they are total idiots!
