Downtown Kansas City Bar Reopen Busts

On second thought . . .

CORONAVIRUS THREATENS TO KILL DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY RENAISSANCE!!!

A decade of overzealous civic dedication inside the loop might be all for naught.

Here's a sign that party people might be harder to bring back to downtown until there is a vaccine or some sort of agreement on an "all clear" for this fragile taxpayer supported enclave.

Checkit:

KCUR: Hours After Reopening, Kansas City Bars Off To An Unhappy Start

Deets:

"Some Kansas City bars reopened for the first time in two months. But there weren't many patrons to go around.

"Thousands of downtown workers are gone. So are the happy hour bar stools they normally sit on. But Kansas City’s bars are back and ready for business. Some of them, at least."

  1. just bill the medical bills to kcmo general fund. That's where all of the downtown funding is taken from anyway.

  2. Well of course the media and the CCP democrats have everyone scared to death. They are pissed that the economy is open again so they now have this second wave worse than the first scare tactic going on. Not to mention you have to walk a certain way, sit away from people, no one can talk. Why would anyone go out? It would be kinda like sitting next to Byron and listening to his ignorant rhetoric.
Everyone knows that would be torture, and no fun at all.

    1. Yes this is all a plot by the media.and the Democrats to ruin the economy, not that there's ANY FUCKING REASON they'd want to do that.

I gather you "walk a certain way," with your head up your ass.

p.s. you left out 5G and Bill Gates

    2. So a libertarian and a Trumpvirus walk a certain way into a bar and sit down with Byron.

"Hey" says the bartender, "we don't serve MAGATS here!"

  4. Brookside has a fair size crowds. Anyone know about other areas outside of downtown?

  5. if crowds are small, maybe people are smart.

  6. What galaxy brain could not see this one coming. People have been scared out of their wits by the incessant drumbeat of fear and doom from the media and political classes. They have essentially locked into their homes for the last two months. We have been turned into a nation of Howard Hugheses, watching videos and terrified to go out into the world and actually get near (gasp!) other people. The one sector of the economy that will probably poster is psychiatry. Counselors will be busy for years trying to undo all of the psychological damage done by turning a significant part of the population into paranoid germaphobes.

Hopefully they will start popping their heads up over the next few weeks, see the sun shining and realize that the world is not as scary as they have come to believe. They might even get out and start living again when they see other people who refuse to be cowed into throwing the balance of their lives away.

  7. It's like LA County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer. The good doctor - who, as it so happens, isn't a medical doctor, but the owner of a Ph.D in "Social Welfare" (whatever the f**k that means) extended the L.A. shut down to three more months.

    1. It means the welfare of the people dumbass. If we can only figure out how to save wealthy corporations but not save human beings in the pandemic then this fucked up government and economy don't deserve to survive, let alone be called "great again".

    2. It might mean that literally but people with degrees in social welfare usually have very little notion of how to implement any of it.

I'm still voting for Biden but this makes me a bit upset.

even more positive is the outpouring of walkers and bicyclists. people are learning to live life outdoors again.

even kids have unplugged from video games to come outside.

  26. Its not worth going out to get a beer. Medical insurance never pays the full bill. An emergency room or hospital stay would cost me (and anyone else) THOUSANDS OUT OF POCKET! The virus gets anyone, democrat or republican. You guy dont understand that someone used Crispr to easily modify this virus to attack people. Look up Crispr. And the articles last year about governments fearing this very mod to a common virus to make a new one! Maybe there is 80,000 dead now, but by the 50th wave -there will be

  27. Going out to a bar is not worth dying for. Businesses need to restructure there operations to stay open.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Fucking morons on here talking about how the media has driven us all to be scared to go out. GTFOH. I guess if the media scaring me means, reporting on some guy who got the Rona that I saw on TV and that and it looks like it sucks getting the Rona so I'm going hold off on going to a bar where everywhere gets drunk and sloppy so as to lessen my chances of getting a shitty ass virus that is highly communicable....well, yeah, guilty as charged. You wanna head out for that because you aren't "scared", be my guest. I'll hang on my deck and drink.
