A candid comment from KC's top elected official has met with a great deal of support from follower & fans . . . Checkit:
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas: "I hate everything about this virus. I hate how it targets; how little we know; how little we can do; how frozen we are in being able to recognize those we lose. My heart breaks for so many who should still be with us today."
Developing . . .
Thank you Mr. Mayor!
ReplyDeletePlease don’t be so stupid Ms mayor
ReplyDelete^^^^ said another KC idiot.
DeleteI like these new comments, TKC. Get to challenge the dumb-asses and their dipshittery.
is his favorite gay bar in Lawrence still open?
ReplyDeleteYou think a lot about men, wildman. I wonder what they says about YOU? Weird.
DeleteBut Lucas stands with the very people who caused this. Get use to it Lucas and learn how to handle catastrophes, there is so much more going on out there. I trust they didn't invite you to hunker down with them did they? Suck it up. Oh and.. learn who is on your side and who is against you idiot!
ReplyDeleteWho is the "they" who didn't invite him?
DeleteNegroes and LGBT are the only people that worry about "they " used in a sentence. Take your pick, you are the only one worried about it.
DeleteAs far as Lucas goes, he's doing an okay job. He was slow to realize how serious this this was but once he got started he has been on the right track.
ReplyDeleteIt's citizens fault on a spread. Not an elected official. I didn't see Trump, Lucas , Kelly or anyone else say don't wash your hands and hang out with other stupid fucks ( some are innocent victims of stupid fucks ). Own your stupidity, own that people are dirty and don't seem to listen to the millions of broadcasts for social distance and hand washing. Fuck a Chinese and make yourself seem a part of the solution.
ReplyDeleteSometimes a mayor has to make hard decisions. Q needs to man-up and make a hard decision, he needs to open KC back up. Hospitals are empty, there is an effective treatment, people are gonna die no matter what, so no sense crashing the local economy over this.
ReplyDeleteThere is no effective treatment.
DeleteThe health care industry is 18% of the economy. Unmitigated pandemics would collapse the health care industry and in turn the economy. Trust me, the economists understand the outcome of a pandemic; the economists read history books.
DeleteNo better than "thoughts and prayers". Do something Mayor Q. Go ask Kathryn Shields if you cannot figure out what to do. She knows... You just aren't listening.
ReplyDeleteThe virus doesn't target a community. The community as a whole was told what to do to prevent the spread of the virus but the black community isn't listening. Same issue with HIV / AIDS, another virus and another epidemic.
ReplyDeleteHere is a MLK quote, if that makes you feel better Quinton Lucas... MLK was black and didn't bother with a pitty party.
ReplyDeleteLOVE
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.'
"Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend."
"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. That is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant."
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
"Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it."
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
"If you can’t fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."
Quinton Lucas: "I hate everything about this virus. I hate how it targets; how little we know; how little we can do; how frozen we are in being able to recognize those we lose. My heart breaks for so many who should still be with us today."
ReplyDeleteThinking KCMO residents: "I hate how Mayor Lucas is a perpetual reactionary. I hate how he simply parrots the political party-line; how little he knows or questions; how little of importance he actually does; how frozen he is in chasing after headlines. My heart breaks for the city that we could be under sound fiscal management and planning.
It’s sad your first year as mayor has to be in the midst of a war on humanity. You’re doing a great job. I support you.
ReplyDeleteMayor Lucas is to blame as he knew back in January and before this was going to happen and he did nothing to protect the residents of Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteMayor Lucas needs to be removed from office for being a lazy no good sumbitch whose lack of action killed people here in Kansas City.
That’s some funny shit, asking a Gay person to man up.
ReplyDeleteI hate that he is mayor during this crisis. He mourns the dead but he cares not for the people his policies hurt nor the damage he is doing to his city with his reactions to this virus. Without an economy we cannot have a functional healthcare system nor the civil order we need to effectively deal with its worst effects. He needs to stop his whining, roll up his sleeves, and start acting like a man.
