Shooting on bus closes Independence Ave.
Independence Avenue remains closed between Wabash and Park Avenues this morning after a shooting on an ATA bus. Witnesses indicate a suspect go was on foot stuck his arm in an open back window of a bus s it was stopped and discharged a firearm injuring one individual.

ReplyDeleteWhy was the bus window open? We should not have bus windows that open. That only encourages people to shoot into the open window. This is a dangerous situation. How will the public be safe with bus windows that open? KCMO needs to immediately enact legislation banning this situation and purchase a new fleet of buses.

The urge to kill people has nothing to do with whether bus service is free or not. Obviously, some unsavory character, who doesnt have his own transportation had an altercation with another poor person similarly situated. Cost of fare had no bearing on this incident.
