
Quick news item that's not so important in the grand scheme of things but still apropos for #TBT and a sign of changing times in Kansas City's music scene.
First and foremost, that photo of Johnny Dare at the top of this post doesn't do him justice . . . Word is that he's looking more svelte, relaxed and seems almost COMPLETELY DISINTERESTED IN HIS SHOW.

There's a few ratings geeks who might claim otherwise but those mostly cooked numbers aren't so important nowadays given that the local terrestrial radio audience has mostly abandoned the airwaves altogether and moved to streaming and satellite options.

True, this won't surprise a lot of people but we've had more than a few questions on this topic and #TBT seemed like a good time to report what we've heard back.
A multi-year-hiatus, change of venue and rockers growing older as the genre "evolves" are just a few reasons for the end this local tradition.
Now that the history of the event is complete there is no question that the pinnacle of the show was defined by Kansas City serving as its venue. Contrary to the claims of Kansas-side border war enthusiasts, the EPIC show was doomed as soon as it departed city limits and heart of the Midwest.
Thankfully, we still have the memories of one of the greatest festivals Kansas City has ever witnessed as most listeners believe Johnny Dare is once again on the cusp of "moving forward" and beyond his longtime radio gig.
