Worthwhile discussion among Kansas City policy wonks for the MOST DEDICATED OF ALL DENIZENS OF KANSAS CITY DISCOURSE . . . Check the agenda for this GOLD STANDARD or local political discourse:
"Mike Shanin talks to Kansas 3rd District GOP candidate Amanda Adkins about her decision to challenge Sharice Davids and how she differs from her primary opponents. Michele Watley, Patrick Tuohey, Joni Wickham and Dustin Morris discuss the proposed sales tax in KCMO to provide funding for the Kansas City Fire Department, the battle over abortion rights in Kansas and funding a free fare bus service."
Take a look:
You decide . . .
Kansas City = ENDLESS TAXATION!
ReplyDeleteMore desperate than a compulsive gambler for more money and the development plans are even more shady.
K.C. = The best government money can buy.
Delete^^^^^ Okay Boomers.
ReplyDeleteIt just so happens that the fire department actually is asking for less than Water uses every year when you factor in the constant upgrades that never seem to happen.
Truth is, people want better service from public safety. It's all of these gimmies to private companies that really make people man.
Stopping the tax breaks today was a good start in the right direction. Fully funding police and fire is what KC taxpayers deserve despite the hate of anti-union scabs.
^^^^Okay, Soy Boys!!!
DeleteWhat's with the Boomers BS? There's broad demographics that constitutes those reliably longtime contributing taxpayers that WANT good services that they actually PAY for, and many HAVE BEEN PAYING for throughout the bulk of their adult years in the Kcrumbling, Kcorrupt Kcowtown. Tax funds shell games shenanigans has wearied the tax GOUGED young and old, black and white, working poor and wealthy---ALIKE!!! They're not UNION HATERS. They ARE tired of funding FatCats, free toy trains, crap art scams, and entertainment district shams, and MORE---WHILE trying to dodge potholes, trash rots curbside, too much money is thrown at worsening murder momentum, and MORE.
Super bowl victory will solve all of this!

ReplyDeleteLulz.
When will taxes stop? 99.9%? This is insane fraud and waste.
ReplyDeleteYep, FRAUD....like, Carwash getting re-elected instead of getting THROWED for loan debt funny business. Sure thing, WASTE....as in, a big name in baseball gets to stay on the ballot while his foreclosure fix has FOUL all over it.
DeleteThat black girl and white dude do not like each other. This is a good snapshot of race relations in KC.
ReplyDelete^^^^ True, but their debate was actually useful and informative. More shows like this one please!

ReplyDeleteIf you think that the "deal" to stop tax breaks and subsidies for developers actually means much of anything, you really haven't watched how the bouncing ball works at 12th and Oak.
First, the definition of what "eco devo proposals" are included in the arrangement will constantly change to meet the needs of the current supplicants.
The, new "incentives" will be developed to funnel public money to development projects. Using the CID law to subsidize hotels is a good example.
And finally, there are numerous other obscure "quasi-public" agencies that are independently capable of participating in "private/public" partnerships. Even the ridiculous KC Port Authority has gotten in the game.
There won't be much change.
It will just be less public.
Patrick slams the former mayor and Joni wickham by calling them incompetent, slies right hand man just laughs, that’s pretty telling right there. They fucked kc up so bad and just laugh.....
