Once again this town is pushing toward a record breaking murder count as the overnight was marked by the sounds of gunfire across the city.

KSHB: Homicide at 7200 North Jefferson Court, person of interest in custody
KMBC: Woman killed in shooting late Friday night
KCTV5: Kansas City officers were called to the 7200 block of N. Jefferson Court on a sound of shots call just before 11.
Fox4: Police are investigating the city’s latest homicide
Channel 41: Kansas City Police responded to a shots fired call around 2:50 a.m. Saturday at Independence Avenue and Askew Avenue.
The all-time KCMO homicide record was set in 1993 and stands at 153 and this is the 2nd time in the past 3 years Kansas City is coming close to moving past that number.
