Tonight the fight against disproportionate property tax assessments continues as a litany of lawsuit and political opposition confront Jackson County Executive Frank White.
This push back moved to the courts as the ACLU filed an important lawsuit against Jackson County citing allegations of racial bias over property tax assessments.
And then . . .
An even better lawsuit emerges over process and claims Jackson County FAILIED to follow Missouri rules & regs in their tax assessments.
Sadly, court cases are long and drawn out and seldom lead to an outright victory.
To wit . . .
REALITY CHECK: FOR MANY JACKSON COUNTY RESIDENTS THIS CHRISTMAS IS BITTERSWEET BECAUSE IT'LL BE THE LAST ONE IN THEIR HOME!!!
Accordingly, we remind our late night readers that local government decisions do have a very real world impact. Whilst holiday wishes go across the world and tout peace, love and understanding . . . Right here in KCMO, an elected official has upheld tragic decisions that will force people from their residence by way of tax hikes that didn't follow the law according to a desperate Christmastime cry for help.

ReplyDeleteAnd if another good candidate doesn't emerge and people don't vote. He'll still win by 20 points. Weird.
Delete^^^^^And a happy Christmas Eve to you, too.
ReplyDeleteFrank went from a respected player to a complete failure in public office.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for the people that got seriously screwed. In my white neighborhood I got 14.9......butnthe poor folks in the ghetto really got hit.
ReplyDeleteI hate to agree with the racist poster on this blog... but Black American people do ruin pretty much everything. I have come to the realization after several years of trying to prioritize them in my life and really not 1 real positive experience: not their friendship, love, worship or politics. Run the other direction and don’t look back.
ReplyDeleteBlacks ruin everything.
ReplyDeleteFrank is the grinch except with a brain too small.
Has Frank paid his own taxes yet? MSM should make sure to be there when he does. This guy needs to be shamed every time he goes out to eat. I feel for his wife. My taxes went up 60% from last year, no physical inspection. Why won't someone have the balls to report about how much his were last year and how much they are this year? The sense of loyalty this town has still for this joker makes me sick.
ReplyDeleteFrankie boys taxes only went up 14.9 percent, you all can’t expect his to go up like the poor peoples do you? That would be against the law if they went up more than that and we don’t want to make him angry now do we.
ReplyDeleteAnother couple years of 14.9 percent increases in the suburbs will push those people out of their houses too. Everybody loses in Jackson County.
ReplyDeleteWe need to try to convince Crosby Kemper III to run against Frank.
