TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY SUNDAY CHURCH CONFRONTATION!!! SUPPORTERS OF 'SAVE THE PASEO' STORM FAITH COMMUNITY MLK BLVD EVENT!!!

Tonight tensions escalate amid a confrontation at a predominately African-American Kansas City church regarding the name of a historic local street.

Checkit:

ALLEGATION: KANSAS CITY 'SAVE THE PASEO' SUPPORTERS RUDELY STORMED INTO A BLACK CHURCH & AND INTERRUPTED AN MLK BLVD RALLY!!!

There's a social media firestorm underway right now but we're focusing on quotes and FIRST PERSON REPORTING FROM THE EVENT from local public figures and people who have held elected office.

First word comes from Former 3rd District Councilwoman and tireless activist Sharon Sanders Brooks:

"I don't believe the total disrespect that the Save The Paseo people have exhibited today. They have stormed into Paseo Baptist Church during OUR Rally. The are refusing to sit down and are standing in the aisle even after the Pastor asked them to be seated."

In a public post, Northeast resident, advocate and school board member Manny Abarca confirms the disturbance with pix:

"This is what lack of integrity looks like, @Save the Paseo....interrupting a peaceful assembly and thinking it’s righteous... I am proud and honored to Stand for Dr. King."

And so . . .

SOME 'SAVE THE PASEO' ACTIVISTS HAVE CROSSED THE LINE AND TARGETED A FAITH COMMUNITY WITH A POORLY PLANNED DISTURBANCE!!!

To be fair, check the Save The Paseo FB and see their take on the dust-up . . . All that we can make of it is that they were completely outnumbered and displayed their naivete by even showing up to a rally for the other side. They would have done better to hold their own event.

Moreover, these protesters seemingly forgot the shameful history of persecution that African-American churches have endured during the American Civil Rights struggle.

AND they're tone deaf to recent threats confronting progressive faith communities amid the divisive tenures of Prez Obama/Trump.

Let's be real . . . This kind of stupidity from a small collection of "Save The Paseo" supporters will galvanize voters and threatens to recharge MLK Blvd support for the Tuesday vote.
