A newsie update was better than a sponsored hack report about a commission that most residents don't really care about . . . Checkit:
Mayor Quinton Lucas released six appointments to the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City on Thursday. The list includes three current council members and, most notably, mayoral candidate and former Councilwoman Alissia Canady as the chairwoman.
Canady, who ran against Lucas in the mayoral primary, often clashed with the TIF Commission and generally advocated for more measured use of city incentives, specifically on the East Side and other disadvantaged areas.
In addition to Canady, the nominees are: Councilman Lee Barnes, Councilwoman Andrea Bough, Councilwoman Ryana Parks-Shaw, Pam Mason and Tammy Queen.

Now, given that this former council lady was most famous for clashing with police . . . And this move once again demonstrated Mayor Q handing off the tough part of his job to somebody else . . .
WILL ALISSIA CANADY SHAKE UP THE TIF COMMISSION?!?!?
Reality . . . This might make for good theater but local politicos always overestimate how much people REALLY care about TIF drama and the mundane deals of how most legalized bribes are amassed.
You decide . . .
