A newsie update was better than a sponsored hack report about a commission that most residents don't really care about . . . Checkit:
Mayor Quinton Lucas released six appointments to the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City on Thursday. The list includes three current council members and, most notably, mayoral candidate and former Councilwoman Alissia Canady as the chairwoman.
Canady, who ran against Lucas in the mayoral primary, often clashed with the TIF Commission and generally advocated for more measured use of city incentives, specifically on the East Side and other disadvantaged areas.
In addition to Canady, the nominees are: Councilman Lee Barnes, Councilwoman Andrea Bough, Councilwoman Ryana Parks-Shaw, Pam Mason and Tammy Queen.

Now, given that this former council lady was most famous for clashing with police . . . And this move once again demonstrated Mayor Q handing off the tough part of his job to somebody else . . .
WILL ALISSIA CANADY SHAKE UP THE TIF COMMISSION?!?!?
Reality . . . This might make for good theater but local politicos always overestimate how much people REALLY care about TIF drama and the mundane deals of how most legalized bribes are amassed.
You decide . . .
No. It'll still be free money to any and all developers who can front a dinner for them at the River Club.
ReplyDeleteDid he fire Circo?
ReplyDelete^^^ Former Mayor Sly James appointed his then-mayor pro tem, Cindy Circo, to chair the board. Circo still holds that position and would be replaced by Canady.
ReplyDeletePam mason is a shit bag so there is that.
ReplyDeleteSame as it ever was
ReplyDeleteGoddamn, Alissa is sure one big, fat woman. She is very fat. FAT FAT FAT. OBESE.

ReplyDeleteMore than likely this lady will have a lot more campaign contributions in her next political campaign and the developers will continue to get everything they ask for.
