The Courthouse war of words continues into Friday night . . . Following a statement from the Exec on his criticism of a recent report and demand for retraction ... His colleagues offer a strident response.
To wit . . .
AMID COMBAT REPORT CRISIS: JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR MEAN JEAN PETER BACKER PUT BLAME ON EXEC FRANK WHITE FOR ANY ERRORS!!!
Here's the word:
Prosecutor and COMBAT's statement on BKD audit
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker and COMBAT Director Vince Ortega issued this statement this evening regarding a press statement made today by County Executive Frank White's office.
In our own meeting this afternoon with BKD, BKD confirmed that the only specific alleged inaccuracy identified by County Executive Frank White's office was information given to them by the County Executive's office. So any error would be the County Executive's error.
BKD was always aware that the report was being released once it was final because it was a public record regarding public funds. We advised them it would be released within days of it becoming final. And we made clear it would be released without redactions. We also advised them once the report was released.
It was important to the integrity of this report that other county departments were not given the opportunity to scrub, redact or delay this report, as has been practiced in some county departments. You should be reminded that the County Executive's office heavily redacted a consultant's report on the poor conditions at the Jackson County Detention Center and sought to seal documents that supported a grand jury's report on conditions at the jail.
We will review any other specific allegations of any error with our auditors.

Developing . . .
She's not playing around and has Missouri Democratic Party infrastructure to back her up. Frank isn't going to survive without that.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for Jackson County to pick sides. My money is on Jean.
DeleteWell, considering the property tax rates that residents are going to have to pay at least they're getting some entertainment value for their money.
DeleteIf only Peters-Baker were as tough on criminals in the courtroom as she is with a clown like Frank White.
ReplyDeleteShows what the real priorities are.
Jackson County government is in a neck-and-neck contest with KCMO and Clay County to see which can waste the most taxpayer money and make the biggest fools of themselves.
Race to the bottom.
And all at taxpayer expense.
Jean wins this round. The report identifies Frank, not her.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when a sports celebrity gets elected via name recognition. You shot yourself in the foot, Jackson County. I expect that's going hurt for awhile.
ReplyDeleteBULL Jean SHIT!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first page of the report states that it is a DRAFT, and is not to be publicly released!
YOU LIE!
Now, how much COMBAT money was there when you got your hands on it, and how much is left? Where is the AUDIT of YOUR MANAGEMENT?
Petersucker knew what was going on.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how Frank responses to the state judge who on FOX FOUR said the courts have been getting shortchanged its allotment of combat money too. He'll probably ask the judge to retract the interview.
ReplyDeleteVince Ortega knew what was going on... he is the Director of Combat.
ReplyDeleteThey are trying to CYA's because the truth was exposed.
9:57 ^^^ Ortega has been Combat director since last fall. Caleb Clifford's pick-up was bought shiny and brand new in 2016. Frank and Caleb wanted someone from Team Frank, some lady friends with Caleb's wife, made Combat director. They wanted somebody they knew would play ball with them.
ReplyDeleteWho could have guessed a baseball player who won a popularity contest would have absolutely no real world problem solving skills and no clue how to manage finances?
ReplyDeleteWe should take some of the Combat money and hire a real prosecutor to replace worthless Jean Petersucker Baker. No weak-dick liberal UMKC lawyers need apply.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't just about a company car. A thirty year old jail is not outdated as HOK makes it appear. HOK has the contract for the new jail and everybody on the Grand Jury Audit stands to profit from a bigger jail. The state wants to get rid of 20,000 prisoners because they are getting old and sick or they're locked up for non violent crime and the state is trying to dump the cost on Jackson County. KCPD surveillance is years ahead of other PD's and all the people being locked up is increasing the violence on the street. The money laundering from Mexico is epic and the system has turned police into tax revenuers.
ReplyDelete11:34 I strongly suggest you get yourself into a combat-funded drug treatment program while you still can before all the money is gone. If Caleb's truck is a 2016 model, he and Frank are probably going car shopping soon for something brand new.
ReplyDeleteOn the surface Team Frank raising a big stink over this seems pretty stupid to me. It just calls more attention to this controversy.
ReplyDeleteBut it does draw everybody's attention away from the far bigger scandal, the assessment fubar.
We're seeing a genius at work here.
Frank isn't a dumb ex-jock. He's playing 3D Chess and everybody else is playing checkers.
It's fun to watch Frank stomp his feet. It's gonna be funner when they haul him away. I really feel sorry for his wife who has to deal with this idiot on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of stupidity at Jackson county is staggering, Frankie boy has got to be the dumbest person to ever be in charge of the county in its entire existence, I truly believe a ten year old in the kcps school district could do a better job then him because he’s at a level of education lower then a ten year old.
ReplyDeleteBig Bad Jeanie is the PROSECUTOR for goodness sake!
ReplyDeleteIf any of this shit actually happened, it was criminal activity, so PROSECUTE!
Of course, if this is just a political play to get unquestioned access to a multi-million dollar slush fund with no oversight, just continue issuing press releases.
RECALL FRANK WHITE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJean isn't an honest broker and needs to be recalled too. I can't wait to watch the Missouri Democratic party fail in 2020
ReplyDeleteWhether previous audit reports have been altered by the County Executive is irrelevant in this case. The current audit is owned by the Prosecutor's Office, who will have the final say on what stays in and what goes out. The Prosecutor should have submitted the audit to the County for comment only, before releasing it to the media.
ReplyDeleteSomebody please WHERE is the petition to get White out. WHY are we sitting here with text on a web page when he needs to be physically FIRED
