TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JERMAINE REED CLINGS TO 18TH & VINE AMERICAN JAZZ MUSEUM LEADERSHIP BUT MANY 3RD DISTRICT LEADERS DEMAND HIS DEPARTURE!!!
They're playing traveling music for outgoing Councilman Jermaine Reed but he's not listening as he continues to march to the beat of his own drummer. Sadly, it sees like the young politico might go out on a sour note.
Yes, your bad puns are better than TKC but here's the important line . . .
INSIDERS WORK BEHIND THE SCENES TO MOVE DEPARTING COUNCILMAN REED OUT OF HIS LEADERSHIP ROLE FOR THE COSTLY & EMBATTLED AMERICAN JAZZ MUSEUM!!!
Check this recent message as the fight for positions in the new Administration are reaching a fever pitch . . .
"He had his chance and he wasted it. If there's any future for this District it doesn't belong with the FORMER Councilman. In fact, there's a need for a total house cleaning and keeping Mr. Reed simply reinforces the status quo. If we're going to try something new, we need to give a different group of people a chance to make the place work. I don't see progress with Jermaine Reed still trying to exert his influence. There are plenty of other local efforts where his talents can be utilized more effectively."
And so . . .

Remember that the Museum recently endured a total leadership change.
For context, it's also worth remembering that KCMO has given $100-MILLION to the entire 18th & Vine Jazz District since 1990 and there is still no viable profit model for the party place that has grown increasingly violent in recent years.
Accordingly, with about $7-MILLION given to the district last year and even more funding under consideration . . . The role of the outgoing Councilman becomes more important as many East Side residents are working hard to change the tune of 18th & Vine as the new administration of Mayor-Elect Quinton Lucas prepares its solo performance.
