Without question Westport's longstanding leader Bill Nigro has had as much if not more influence over Kansas City politics than any other man living and working Midtown today.
And so . . .
THIS MORNING WE CELEBRATE THE POLITICAL INSIGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS OF BILL NIGRO & HIS HOT TAKE ON THE UPCOMING KANSAS CITY VOTE!!!
We make a highlights and add photos to the commentary but the words are a result of a lifetime of experience garnered from Kansas City's all-time favorite Westport mogul.

Kansas City Election According To Westport Leader Bill Nigro
There are 3 important people that our new team will inherit that I want to recognize: Sheriff Darryl Forte, Chief Rick Smith and Dr.Mark Bedell. These 3 people are critical to KC's future. No one is more dedicated than these 3. I want to thank you 3 for your incredible service. Don't let the system beat you down because Kc needs you. Stay with it.
Mayor's race: My pick & it's an easy one, is Quinton Lucas!
Let me start off by saying that Jolie Justus is a very nice person. She's a good Kc cheerleader! I rented an office to her for several years when she was a state Senator. Three years ago after her failed violent crime committee results, Jolie told Westport she would champion our security plan to take away guns late at night on weekends.
After we spent over $130,000 of our own money to get all the documentation done, Jolie changed her mind and worked against us. Her interference in our security plan caused 6 people to get shot in the core of Westport just like we told her would happen. Jolie should apologize to the victims.
That was 2 years ago and now Westport has a handle on security again no thanks to Jolie. Jolie has been a no show now for the last 3 years in Westport and we're in her district. Quinton has been to Westport a lot and he even patronizes several restaurants here. He's always taken the time to discuss and help solve local issues. He has the best chance of mixing the rich and the poor because of his remarkable past. I want to meet Quinton's mom. I've heard a lot about her influence. I had a great mom too.
4th district: I live and work in Westport so I am always concerned about who gets elected. Currently our only champion has been Katheryn Shields! Westport loves her for all her help! Thanks Katheryn!
My other choice for 4th district is Geoff Jolley. He's a fireman. The Fire Dept get honorable mention as the friendliest dept at city hall. I've been working with the city for over 40 years and the Fire Dept has always been helpful. Thanks guys!
Geoff also has an incredible past. He was Emmanuel Cleaver's top guy for many years and is well educated and has a lot of common sense. His opponent Eric Bunch is head of BikeWalkKc. Eric and Justus have been pushing the bike paths downtown and midtown. While potholes are everywhere they spent thousands on a bike plan on Armour Blvd that is now realized to be a BAD design that has to be redone. Several months back at a forum about bike lanes, I pointed out the problems with the design on Armour. Bunch and his twitter team tweeted me badly for almost a week. I guess I better get ready for more. I'm not in favor of electing anyone who has no concept of spending priorities. Justus and Bunch are the kind of people who will bankrupt KC By the way, Westport is the most bicycle friendly area in KC and we love the critical mass people.
Heather Hall is one of my favorites. She's a policeman's wife. She has great common sense and she get's it. Lee Barnes and Teresa Loar are also allies to Westport and I want to thank them for their continued support.

3 new people I like: Kevin O'Neill is running up north in the 1st district. I've know him since high school and he's a good, honest, hard working man and I'm excited to have his input on KC. Brandon Ellington is another dedicated Kansas Citian. He's proven at the state level that he can work hard for us. Welcome home Brandon, Kc needs you. Stacey Johnson-Cosby is my wild card vote. I like her. She's tenacious and hard driven. She's an underdog but I'm pulling for her. Stacy is 6th district at large.

Well that's my short list. It's not all the races for council but it's the ones I know. Good luck Kansas City, I hope we pick some good leaders......
