TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY FREEDOM, INC. AND QUINTON LUCAS EARN EPIC $50K+ CASH LOVE FROM POWER PLAYER JOCO LAWYER MICHAEL KETCHMARK!!!
Tonight our KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY shares even more journalism on the money games amid the Kansas City contest for mayor.
Brief insight . . .
Whilst about equal in population we notice that money always flows from JoCo to KCMO in terms of politics and rarely the other way around. This is part of the reason why we focus on 12th & Oak given that urban core policies resonate across the metro more than any other local municipality.
But I digress . . .
Here's what's important . . .
FREEDOM, INC. FAVORS QUINTON LUCAS AND THEIR EFFORT TO TURN OUT AN EPIC NUMBER OF INNER-CITY VOTES HAS NOW BEEN BOOSTED WITH AN EPIC CHECK!!!
Check the evidence from Missouri Ethics website because we're talking about one of the most prominent lawyers in town and we want to make sure we're on point:
Who is Michael Ketchmark???
According to his website:
"Michael Ketchmark has been practicing law since 1990. Mike has won numerous awards and recognitions as one of the top plaintiffs' attorney in the Kansas City area including "Best of the Bar" by the Kansas City Business Journal, one of Kansas City "Best Lawyers" by 435 Magazine, and repeatedly selected as one of one elite group of "Super Lawyers" by Thomson Reuters publication."
More importantly, he's friends with just about every politico player in town . . . From Team Jeff Roe at Axiom to the upstart crew at Parson + Associates -- All the major consultants know his name. He has donated big bucks before but . . .
THIS IS THE MOST EPIC CHECK ANYBODY HAS SEEN THE DUDE WRITE!!!
The swanky donation kinda marks his debut as a local political power player beyond the scope of mere Leawood legal eagles struggling to make their Lexus payments.
Of course, we are sure Mr. Ketchmark's heart is pure and he supports the agenda of this historic political action committee overall but more than anybody this late in the game cash infusion will help the Freedom, Inc. endorsed candidate and urban core law dude who has run a campaign geared toward lower-income concerns like affordable housing and inner-city neighborhood renewal.
Moreover, we notice lackluster fundraising as of late for mayoral hopeful Quinton Lucas on his own reports but this boost by proxy comes at a time when polls say he's leading but it's clear this contest will be close and every vote counts: Nearly as much as more than 50 grand+ boost from a high-powered lawyer.
And so . . .
Whilst a series of boring debates offer the illusion that any single voter has influence over the process . . . The TKC blog community offers PROOF that Johnson County leaders are flexing their political muscles on the East Side and will clearly have a great deal of influence over the outcome of the KCMO election.
Developing . . .
Ah, Freedom. Another white guy tells them what to do. That doesn't sound very liberating to me.
ReplyDeleteThe polling says Quinton is ahead but the only thing I agree with about this post is that the election will be close. Will freedom turn out the vote? Maybe in the nearly vacant 3rd district but nowhere else. Notice that people have moved away from their sphere of influence.
DeleteAt this point, We're looking at Quinton +3. Well out ut of distance of a recount.
DeleteThink about it.
So can we all sleep it off in our car now? That would be nice. Might help the homelessness situation.
ReplyDelete^^^ Better title. Kansas City green card coming soon.
ReplyDeleteI can’t vote for either of them, sad!
ReplyDeleteKansas City has the best government money can buy.
ReplyDeleteBy the time this money gets "laundered" through the hands of the usual "management team" at Freedom, there should be about $200 left to actually buy votes.
ReplyDeleteAnd since the top voter turnouts in the 3rd District average around only 4000 votes, at the end of the day this cash won't really buy much.
It's the same as the Green Impact Zone, Citadel Plaza, Prospect Corridor Project, 18th and Vine Jazz District, and all the rest of the money that pours into that part of town.
Somehow it turns into thin air.
So what's the payoff on this deal?
Quinton has been bought and paid for.
ReplyDeleteGood comment at @8:41, Quinton would have been better off just asking for the donation directly to his campaign. A $500 dollar direct check would have been money more effectively spent.
ReplyDeleteI just want to see his work on how he arrived at that figure.
ReplyDeleteWhy not 53,362 or 53,364; why exactly 53,363?
Did you know that when humans want to give the impression that they've picked a random number, they always use too many 3's?
Yes, it's about 50,000, but it's not 50,000.
I would like to see his work on how he arrived at that figure.
A helluva good deed, BTW, actually giving it to Freedom, Inc. instead of directly to Lucas.
You would be an expert at living of other people’s money.
DeleteMoney.
ReplyDeleteWell.
Spent.
He would have earned more votes handing out hundreds on Troost. Fool and his money.
Actually, Freedom will spend this money more effectively than Quinton Lucas. They have years go experience getting out the vote in the community and they put Quinton in office in the first place. So far the Quinton campaign just seem good at making videos and getting his head patted during TV interviews. It's called a ground game and most people don't understand how it works.
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget. Jolie only received a low victory in the primary. So everyone who voted against her in the primary is far more likely to vote against her in the general.
ReplyDeletePeople do not vote FOR.
They vote AGAINST the one they like the least.
I'd use a bunch of 3's in a numeric prediction to illustrate that, but that would just delight Byron the Smug.
Preach Tracy!
DeleteI'm going to write-in Clay Chastain!
ReplyDeleteIt’s obvious something is going on between Byron and Tracy.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^Like the rest of us she knows an idiot and loser when she sees one.
ReplyDeleteQuinton as a B- council person. I'm hoping he will improve as Mayor because Jolie flunked her term on the council and there's no reason anybody should vote for her unless they're getting paid to do so.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Terry Riley in all of this?
ReplyDeleteSo now Lucas and Justus have both received large contributions from the same Kansas-based Real Estate Developers through their pet Lawyers, right?
ReplyDeleteWonder if either one of them will continue to meet the definition of an "Honest Politician" and stay bought?
Sly James and Kay Barnes sure did.
