ReplyDeleteProjects like this make me wonder if we have abandoned the idea of our downtown being a central business district. Granting huge subsidies not for businesses and jobs, but instead for luxury dwellings. There's no jobs in this deal. Maybe some temporary construction jobs but don't kid yourself. Those guys don't live in the city. After their shift they hop in their trucks and drive home to basehor or buckner or lone Jack or wherever and they don't spend a dime in KCMO. Oh and the streets of downtown KC are terrible in spite of all this attention subsidies and debt focused on downtown.
