First the nice news and a great opportunity to make a new friend that is unlikely to double-cross.
For those who want to invite a new allergen into their home . . .
KMBC: Every kennel at KC Pet Project full, shelter holding $10 Tuesday adoption special
More good news, The PetCo foundation doubled their donation matching funds to $500K but that program has been in place since at least 2015.
Now the real talk . . .
KC PET PROJECT AND THEIR FRIENDS STILL OWE KANSAS CITY TAXPAYERS $8-MILLION BUCKS & IF ANYBODY ELSE BUT WHITE WOMEN WERE ON THE HOOK FOR THAT KINDA CASH THEY'D BE IN JAIL!!!
Fact is, locals aren't opening their wallets because not only are there more important local priorities but also most of us know that City Hall deep pockets are making up the difference.
Again, let's make this a compliment sandwich because it seems the group has made a bit of progress since we last called them out for their deception . . .
They're up a few thousand bucks and now claim 3% of a fundraising total that skimps on the debt.
Remember what local animal lovers promised:
"In addition to the City’s $18M in GO funds contribution, the private sector will raise an additional $8M in construction costs, for a total construction cost of $26M for the 55,000-60,000 square foot campus facility."
About that number: In campaign materials and news coverage . . . KC voters initially were told they'd only have to pay $14-million.
And whilst politicos promote this nice time . . .
KANSAS CITY POLITELY IGNORES THE EPIC $8-MILLION BUCKS OWED THAT THE KC PET PROJECT & FRIENDS PROMISED VOTERS TWO-YEARS AGO!!!
This bait & switch might be one of the biggest political scams in Kansas City history perpetrated by way of cute doggies as local taxpayers will likely be forced to make up the difference because local media refuses to hold these very photogenic white ladies accountable for their disingenuous campaigning.
FIRST ON TKC.
