Westport Wild Nights Await
Westport fights are typically more serious than any place else because guns & booze are often involved. Local biz has been working to downplay an off-duty cop shot dead at weekend Westport party a couple of years ago.
To curb the threat, a "street vacation" fence has been built and the checkpoint hopes to limit guns in the district. Some locals are doubtful the precautions will work to keep violent youngster gangs away.
Oak Park Mall Is Off The Chain
The last "real" mall left in the metro suffered two separate spates of gunfire last year and remains under the threat of youth violence nearly every weekend. For better or worse, the dearth of viable retail options help the chances of this institution where violence is mainly focused around the food court.
Kansas City Country Club Plaza Started The Violent Teen 'Flash Mob' Trend
The Plaza is the place where this violent youth trend started locally and a decade after this problem reached the tipping point. There's still no solution as the end of the school year ramps up the need for police protection given that Mayor Sly's pizza party failed to stop the youth violence in this part of town or anywhere else.
The Lenends and Independence Center earn an honorable mention but the po-po in both of those places get a lot "rougher" with youngsters in hope of preventing "skirmishes" like the WOF donnybrook over the weekend.
