TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! HILLSIDE MOTEL HOT MESS CONTINUES!!! NEW DEMOLITION PROMISES AFTER YEARS OF DECEIT!!!
Our blog community broke this story back in March and since then community complaints have grown even louder.
The latest . . .
CELEBRATE A NEW PROMISE TO DESTROY HILLSIDE MOTEL JUST BEFORE SILLY SEASON ELECTIONS START!!!
Never mind the ongoing problem for months and years.
Here's the update but don't forget that owners just have to wait about 90 days until the pressure is off and people forget about the nasty stretch of road once again.
Checkit:
KCTV5: Neighbors relieved that Hillside Motel in KC will be demolished
Deets:
"Good news tonight for neighbors who live near a defunct motel in KC: it will be demolished soon.
"Neighbors have hoped for demolition day for years. In fact, for more than five years, taxpayers complained to the city about the property.
"Just looking at it, it’s clear why they are fed up.
"Long ago, the Hillside Motel at 6305 Blue Parkway tried to attract customers with color TVs and waterbeds.
"Now, it looks more like a landfill. The former motel rooms are trashed and the building is surrounded by trash."

Developing . . .
Looks pretty destroyed to me already.
ReplyDeleteTypical KC, delay, delay and then lie.
ReplyDeleteThe Fabulous Ruins of KCMO
ReplyDelete5:03 typical kc is right, they drug this thing out because sLIE didn’t want to waste his developer money on it but, the roar became too much for him and bow tie the clown sLIE caved in! Big day for the city!!! Finally something is getting done outside the downtown loop! Whoop whoop!
ReplyDeleteMaybe with some TIF money it could be renovated into something world-class where some of our 25 million tourists would like to stay. Seems more lucrative than the jazz district.
ReplyDelete^^^ that’s funny right there!
ReplyDeleteSend the streetcar to that location and 25 million daily tourists will revitalize the area.
ReplyDeleteLC's barbecue down the street should move onto that land once the current motel is torn down. Bigger restaurant, more parking and more great barbecue.
ReplyDeleteIt'll make a great attraction for the playoffs. See the REAL Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteWhoever said this would make a great bbq joint wins this thread. Good idea!
ReplyDeleteAlmost as bad of a dump as arrowhead.
ReplyDeleteLess than 3 miles away from the stadium. THIS is what Kansas City really looks like. Can we take the cleanup coasts out of the salary of our 5th district council members?
ReplyDeleteThem hotel walls have seen some shit
ReplyDelete=8^/
I'm sure gona' miss that place " wah wah sniff sniff"
ReplyDeleteis this the new KC convention hotel they keep talking about?
ReplyDeleteCompared to City Hall- this is a 5 Star Functional business.
ReplyDeleteSame comparison- not an eye sore, doesn’t beg the gov’t for money - no illegals working-
All in all- great property.
Even adds mentality to the community- something lacking at City Hall and the KC Star Editorial Board
Reminds me of what’s left of the KC Star.
ReplyDeleteTOP PHOTO -- HOW LOEWS CAN YOU GO?
ReplyDeleteVisit KC announces the new convention hotel will be open in 2020!!!
Who owns this pile of crap? Tear it down and send them the bill.
ReplyDelete^^^^ the city owns it, both buildings there
ReplyDeleteEven the rats have already moved to Raytown.
