DESPITE DEBATE OVER PROVOCATION AND THE NARRATIVE OVERALL . . . THERE'S NO DENYING YOUNGSTERS DID ENGAGE IN THE 'TOMAHAWK CHOP' THAT'S A HALLMARK OF KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS!!!

And that's where the fun starts . . .

In a scathing series of Tweets, successful freelance writer Brit notes and namechecks the Kansas City Chiefs controversial gesture: "The fact that the MAGA teens used the tomahawk chop to taunt and harass a Native elder should make it crystal clear to sports teams. Teams need to lose the Native mascots and stop allowing their fans to engage in racist chants at their games. It is violent."

She wants KC to part ways with the past . . .

"If the “celebratory behavior” of a fanbase can also be used to harass, mock, and intimidate members of a marginalized group, it’s long past time to give it up."

Juxtaposition and cheering triggers:

"The imagery and sound of the KC Chiefs stadium yesterday, ESPECIALLY after the release of the video of MAGA teens was viscerally upsetting. Tens of thousands of people chanting the very thing that the MAGA teens had spit at Mr. Nathan Phillips. Racist violence, plain and simple."

Finally, she tacitly reveals she hasn't ever been to KCMO where we've been having this debate every season for decades:

"Someone should reach out to every sports team that has a Native mascot & ask them for comment about their fan chants being used to intimidate and harass a Native elder. I’d honestly like to see a sports pub cover the incident this way. This incident makes so visible the problem."

Fact is, teaching political correctness at Arrowhead might be more of an uphill battle anyone realizes.



During the game, scumbag fans targeted QB Tom Brady with a laser. During the playoffs some kid was hit in the head with a bottle. A couple of years ago a guy was beaten to death in the parking lot without a murder charge filed. And let's not forget that time, not so long ago, when fans were caught banging boobs out atop a car. So yeah, the chop is one of the least offensive acts of debauchery happing at the Arrowhead on any given Sunday.
