The holiday homicide spree continues as Kansas City confronts another record year for murders despite progress over last year's historic count.
This latest killing marks 134 compared 151 at this time last year and 131 total at this time last year.
Check the roundup:
KMBC: Man found shot to death in car near 30th, Park
Fox4KC: Homicide investigation underway in KC after man found slumped over in vehicle
KCTV5: Police went to the area just after 5 a.m. when someone called and said that someone in a car may need medical attention.
Developing . . .
2nd highest murder number in 5 years, 4th highest in the past 25.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is not momentum. Or if it is, not the kind we want.
And we're still going into the weekend and NYE. So I guess the typical new year's eve mess.
DeleteI really like what all of the mayoral candidates are saying about crime. Wait, that is NOTHING! The people running for mayor don't really have anything to contribute to the discussion. They're worse than the commenters because at least they critical comments have a point beyond looking for a promotion.

It'll be 140 by the time we ring in the New Year.
ReplyDeleteJustus is doing it! Down to only 131!
ReplyDeleteSmooch!
Can hardly wait for next spring and summer. When KCMO mellows out and becomes the countries safest city.
ReplyDeleteHeather Hall was appointed to some Federal crime commission so surely all of the failed feel good meetings etc., she will be attending will reduce the crime.
ReplyDeleteNot.
Oh no!! Let's all shit ourselves. There, took care of it for you Byron.
ReplyDeleteBTW where is Byron the pre-geezer with BPD?
ReplyDeleteHow is a mayor suppose to stop low IQ no self control idiots from killing each other ?
