The Kansas City Weekly Power Rankings

There are many things worth fighting for and the struggle to stop bulling is a worthwhile cause.

Example . . .

Daily Mail: Farrah Abraham flaunts ample cleavage in a bra and black leggings while training for her boxing match

Closer to home, we see local politiocs and power players engaged in their own EPIC battles. Here's our roundup of the winners this week.

Council Lady Jolie Justus

She JUMPED BACK INTO THE MAYOR'S RACE this week and claims she's "in it to win it." And while her website, campaign and voting record might be a convoluted mess of flip flops . . . Council Lady Jolie Justus has a great many enthusiastic supporters and stands at the precipice of a powerful achievement if she becomes the first openly gay mayor in KCMO history.

Council Dude Jermaine Reed

The east side politico demands $10-MILLION BUCKS for 18th & Vine and right now Kansas City doesn't have the cash to grant his not-so-humble request. Nevertheless, his nightlife gambit should garner support from many East side leaders who are frustrated with the consistently underperforming entertainment district.

Kansas City Fed Chief Ester George

Given her influence over international monetary policy, she's probably more important than any politico this town has seen in decades. And amid this week's rate hike, proponents contend the move is necessary to fight inflation. Meanwhile, Prez Trump seyz "The Fed is out of control." Whatever the case, the KC Fed Chief touts regional economic strength and remains optimistic despite market swings this week.

As always . . .

This list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people, trends and our times.

Comments

  1. The news was rough this week and this is more of a review of what happened in the headlines. In reality, the flood waters all over KC were the most powerful local force.

    1. Reed makes a good point about the money we're already throwing down the drain in downtown. But the answer is not to burn through more cash, it's to try and limit frivolous spending all over Kansas City.

  2. Ok so Jolie justice doesn’t have aggressive positions on actually fixing kcmo, but she does have the feel good hipster attitude that things will magically happen. Hey, jermain reed just needs a slice of $10m for his homies. You know...for contractor work that doesn’t get done. What a shit bag councilman. No measurable results and he is running for mayor of a homicide district. We could throw a billion at 18th and vine and there would still be blood on the streets of innocent people. Now quinton, that’s a brotha who is a strong plantation leader. He’s the one who sees a democrat black male leave the place ration and runs to massa to snitch. The democrat plantation is ripe in kcmo. Mayor James is a prime example. Keep the black community in chains while working for the chain maker.

  3. Once again, the motto of a large percentage of the residents of the metro is:

THANK GOD FOR THE STATE LINE!

  4. Just shows you Justus is not in charge. She is taking orders from the democratic machine. There is no leadership or future with Justus!
