SHAME!!! SHAKE SHACK LOOKING FOR GOLDEN GHETTO JOHNSON COUNTY LEAWOOD LOCATION AFTER KANSAS CITY COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA SHOOTING!!!
Gunfire, violence and divisive politics have seemingly inspired a beloved burger chain to focus their efforts beyond KCMO and serve customers without so much drama.
To wit . . .
SHAKE SHACK MOVES THEIR ATTENTION TO LEAWOOD AFTER KANSAS CITY COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA GUNFIRE!!!
Now, of course, they're keeping the Plaza location open but here's a look at plans which emerged not-so-curiously after a spate of daytime gunfire rocked local streets.

KC Biz Journal: Shake Shack plans a Johnson County location
Deets:
Shake Shack appears to be planning a second area location, this one in Leawood.
The Leawood Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Tuesday on a request to tear down the On The Border site in Town Center Plaza and replace it with two smaller buildings. Filings with the request state that one of the buildings would house a Shake Shack restaurant.
The fast-growing burger chain opened its first Kansas City-area location last month on the Country Club Plaza.
And then the shooting that cause mass panic happened . . .
And all of this begs the question:
WOULD YOU RATHER EAT AT SHAKE SHACK IN LEAWOOD OR THE KCMO PLAZA?!?!?! TELL US WHY!!!
You decide . . .
Plaza definitely.
ReplyDeleteIt's closer to where I work.
There are more things to do without walking
And the people watching is better. Looking at one botched plastic surgery after the next is no way to eat lunch.
I'll take the Plaza as well. Drive in Leawood and you'll likely get a ticket if you're not driving a bimmer or a benz.
DeleteDo your heart a favor. Just make a salad for lunch.
DeleteWhat did you expect? The Plaza is dead, face facts!
ReplyDeleteI would prefer the safety of Leawood. I lived in Leawood for a few years off state line. I remember when the Hyvee was robbed with a shotgun and the perps fled across state line back to Jackson county. It was safe though. You don’t have a Sewage filled creek that stinks in the humid summer, or the sewers that smell. There are no mobs in the spring running through the streets howling and taunting people. Parking garage rapes and shootings, etc.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how many pizza and hamburger places does a city really need? Wahlburgers, shake shack, 5 guys, town topic, hamburger Mary’s, winsteads, all the McDonald’s and Wendy’s and Burger King, BRGR, Red Robin,
Freddy’s Frozen Custard, and many many more. I won’t even go into listing all the pizza places I’m sure you get the idea.
I've tried Shake Shack, so I'll be going back to Town Topic, thanks anyway!
ReplyDeleteThis had absolutely nothing to do with the shooting Tony and you know it! You are once again trying to keep your scared and stupid readers (like 10:45AM) engaged). 10:54 is absolutely correct. Nice try, I'm sure you'll get the usual shut-ins to respond, but the smart readers know what you're doing. Do better!
ReplyDeleteDon't overlook the fact Tony kept you engaged too. Just saying. .......
Delete^^^^^Is that you, gopher?
ReplyDeleteleawood but only because of the traffic getting in and out of the plaza
ReplyDeleteWhy Shame, Tony?
ReplyDeleteDo a business want to provide a safe place for their patrons, and you want them SHAMED?
Why not shame the people and their parents that are responsible for the problems on the Plaza?
Is Madison Square Park still an option?
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you this. Shake shack was right to think about expanding and moving beyond the plaza. That place is getting more dangerous by the day. Don't know why people still go there, it is not safe for KC. We need to think about just making it a business park or something more productive.
ReplyDeleteShake Shack will be one lease and gone from the Plaza. They will find it isn't worth the risk to do business there.
ReplyDeleteThe Plaza is so desperate to sign leases I bet they made the deal of the decade to get the Shack there. Just this morning was talking with a client who was telling me about his and the wife's visit to the Plaza. They had not been there in years and made it clear they would probably never go back. His wife had sexual rude remarks made at her at one point and neither felt relaxed or safe the whole time there. He ended it with this comment, "Kansas City is a lost cause and everybody who lives there must not give a shit that the things the town was once famous for are either dead or dying.
A great deal of the stuff in the " Sewage filled creek that stinks in the humid summer" comes out of Johnson county.
ReplyDeleteeverybody knows that it flows downhill!
I'm sure a lot of business are going to leave once their lease is up. Shake shack is smart to do this mayor bullhorn has a bad reputation all the way out in rural towns. Hope this is true and they leave I hope cheesecake factory is next.
ReplyDelete11:00 is spot on with the question of how many burger joints does the metro need? I live in Leawood and couldn’t care less about a Shake Shack coming here. If the Plaza shooting did anything, I hope it ramps up biz for Winsteads; I like to support local biz whenever possible.
ReplyDeleteLeawood cops are the biggest pussies. They spend all day trying to nab drivers going 6 over the speed limit.
ReplyDeleteLeawood cop dispatch, "I pulled someone over with a broken taillight. Back up assistance needed! Hurry! Help!"
^^^^^Least they know back up will show up in time
ReplyDeleteThe Playza is happnn.
ReplyDeleteThey don't show up in time because one responds back, "Sorry, I'm in line buying tampons." And another responds, "I have a headache. I'm going home early."
ReplyDeletewe prefer the ease of parking at winstead's on the plaza. they seem to be doing fine. their clientele is diverse and everyone loves them, from poor to rich, as a kansas city institution.
ReplyDeleteListen to all these scardy cats piss and moan! None of you have any business ever leaving your houses. Not one of you is qualified to give the weather outside, let alone an opinion on business. I bet not one of you shriveled up wastes-of-space has ever even been to the Plaza, let alone Shake Shack. God, you geezers are pathetic! Stay under your beds losers. Rest assured, the rest of us are laughing at you! Losers!
ReplyDeleteThe bigger truth @12:42 is correct.
ReplyDeleteShake Shack will be one lease and gone from the Plaza. They will find it isn't worth the risk to do business there.
Thanks for saying it!
^^^^^^I see the head loser on TKC has blessed us with more of his incompetent ramblings.
ReplyDelete1:52 is for 1:45, obviously!
Delete1:45: You're cute when you get angry, gopher.
ReplyDeleteOh, right, 1:45 buttboi, your rant defending Killa Shitty doesn't matter to decent people. Geezers stay away from you Gayzers doing BathHouse buttboiz on the Plaza.
ReplyDeleteOh, you forgot to mention MOMENTUM--as in moving up from #6 this year to #5 ranking for murder.
Old people are the worst...the absolute worst. Bitch, complain, and cry about everything. Thankfully most of them are too broke to afford Shake Shack or the gas to get there. You have to understand, this is all they have. They are trying to stay connected. Disregard them, most are utterly without substance, and likely won't be around long enough to matter.
ReplyDeleteJust because Shake Shack was always looking to expand, you think it has ANYTHING to do with what happened on the Plaza?
ReplyDeleteOf course you dumb motherf*cker!
Are you stupid enough to think that shootings are good for business???
You don't deserve to dine at shake shack!
You can can eat a butt instead!
Leawood is a good idea, too bad about the plaza shooting.
ReplyDeleteI'd still go to plaza because it seems like more fun and something to do after you finished the meal!
^^WTF is this mess of shit? Have a point, be coherent, write at a grade school level at least. Come back when you are not stroking out.
ReplyDeleteIt is always best to locate your store away from negroes.
ReplyDeleteGee! Gopher again at 3:00? Don't you have a job to do? Oh, wait. I guess this IS your job.
ReplyDeleteIt's not too bright to insult older voters when you want them to vote for higher taxes in just a couple of weeks. Especially when you want them to vote foe higher property taxes to give the libraries the money you've been stealing from them with all the subsidies to rebuild downtown.
.....Or, and stay with me here, Shake Shack is just looking to expand into another market??????
ReplyDeleteThis is just a stupid leap here by TKC. Yes, I'm sure once the Leawood location opens up all the potential customers in Brookside, Mission, Midtown etc. are gonna be like "you know what, the Plaza is too dangerous, let's drive 20 minutes extra out to Leawood".
^^^^^^^^^ that's what I'm doing!
