KANSAS CITY FLOODING REPORT!!!



Rain over the past few days has flooded basements, streets and a great many parks and trails . . . And so here's more reporting on the topic as the rains continue. Checkit:

Kansas City Rising Tide

Flooding closes roads, expected to overtop some farm levees

KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) -- Heavy rains are closing dozens of Missouri roads and putting some low-lying homes at risk of flooding. The Missouri Department of Transportation says nearly 70 roads are closed, mostly in the northwest part of the state. They include stretches of U.S. 24 and Missouri 48.


Local Flood Warnings

Flood warning issued through 4 p.m. today

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning from now through 4 p.m. today for Wyandotte County. Also under the flood warning are Johnson and Miami counties in Kansas, and western Cass County, Clay County, eastern Platte County and Jackson County in Missouri. At 9:54 a.m., local law enforcement reported flooding in several locations...


Grid Going Down

Over 6000 people in the metro without power

A little over 6000 people in the metro are without power tonight. A breaker at one of Kansas City Power & Light's substations locked out sometime around 8:30 p.m. Crews are on the scene but haven't determined a cause for the outages as of yet.

FOX4 Forecast: Stay Weather Aware

Keep the rain gear handy as we have more rain in the forecast for today. A Flood Warning is in effect until 4pm for a good portion of the metro. Later today, we will be tracking a cold front that will spark showers & thunderstorms. Some will be on the strong to severe side with the main threats being damaging winds and flooding.

  2. Thinking of the water company dudes, the pawns in the elites game, out there for hours in the wet. They must be exhausted from their regular routine of sitting in their trucks taking naps. Now they won’t get to sleep their way through overtime pay.

  4. ^^^ yes it is! Just look at cleaver two where it continues to flood and trap cars in a watery grave, the beauty of this is that this has been going on for thirty years and yet still not fixed. Now that’s moving forward with momentum people! Smart city my eye

  5. Cleaver blvd and blue pkwy flood every time we get moderate rains, this is an absolute disgrace, downright embarrassing actually. Why don’t they dump the excess rain from the street into flush creek? It makes its way into it eventually.
