Quick Kansas City culture clip about one of the very best creatives this town has ever witnessed. A quick round-up of her work and a peek at her in action . . .
Description:
"For a brief period during its 9-year run in the 80's, KSHB-TV's "Creature Feature" was carried live. In this clip, horror hostess Crematia Mortem gives the score of the Royals game which had just ended, before swinging into that evening's show. This video, from 1985, is one of only existing clips of the show's produced open. The open was shot at Epperson House on the UMKC Campus (which is supposed to be haunted). The theme music was created by KSHB's Rob Forsythe on a Casio keyboard. The creepy announcer was Paul Murphy, who also created the voices for Crematia's manservant, Rasputin, and his sidekicks Dweeb and Rolf."
Take a look:
Maybe more for the morning or probably mid-morning . . .
Back when anchors and news people actually lived in KC for more than 11 months. Nice.
ReplyDeleteThat shit is the devil!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow I think I remember this. This is awesome. Too bad the stations dont do things like this anymore.
ReplyDeleteA good time in local TV. This was back before local TV tried to copy national with daytime garbage.
ReplyDeleteSad that Mike Nichols retired, his late night talk show was pretty good.
Aw. Good stuff :)
ReplyDeleteShe's a hot Jewess.
ReplyDeleteKathy sure looked good in red back in those days!
ReplyDeleteI trick-or-treated last night. Dressed in camouflage. Didn't get any candy. Can't figure it out. Last year I dressed as a stupid ghost. First I put a dunce cap on, then threw a white sheet over my head. It was an effective costume, because every time someone came to the door, they looked horrified. Still didn't get any candy. I just don't get it.
ReplyDeleteWhen Roberta Solomon got decked out in her Crematia Mortem outfit and had that dialogue flowing, many a man got stiff with fright!
