Kansas City Dead Tree Media Seyz Westport Street Vacation Security Crackdown Threatens Biz More Than Mass Shootings?!?!
One failing biz advises another . . . Check today's local laugh:
Westport's new security measures could cost the district money | The Kansas City Star
The streets and sidewalks in Westport should be open and accessible on weekend nights. But if stakeholders remain committed to the new security measures put in place to improve public safety in the district, they may need to develop better solutions to address issues in the area Otherwise, the decision to privatize some sidewalks in the district may prove cumbersome for customers - and could lead to unrest in the streets.
Shop moving out of Westport said it's because it's all bars and restaurants and not enough parking.
ReplyDeleteMaybe initially though I doubt it. If it keeps the black people out throngs of people with disposable income that don't shoot other people will be back to patronize local businesses.
ReplyDeleteThe Star is actually saying that if security measures become cumbersome and inconvenient for customers that it "may cause violence in the streets"?
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a bit like shouting "FIRE!" in a crowded theater?
Surely the Star "reporters" really know who causes the problems in Westport or most of the rest of KCMO
Just read the police reports.
They just can't bring themselves to be honest about the problem.
Which means they will NEVER have anything helpful to say about solutions.
The Star has become a parody of itself, which, given its embarrassingly low quality already, is truly amazing.
I wouldn't touch Westport with a ten foot pole.
ReplyDeleteOh wait. That's on the banned list!
I feel so sorry for Tivoli Theatre. their classy audience for art films is just not going to feel comfortable.
No violins, no flowers, no empty water bottles?
Why are you against increased security measures? The district has been closing the streets and sidewalks for years and no one complained. The only difference now is that metal detectors will be installed. No one should be allowed to carry a weapon into a party district except for law enforcement and anyone that argues differently is living in a fantasy land. If public pressure causes Wesport to decrease security, then the next shooting in Westport will be on your shoulders.
Delete^^^^Thank Christ for that! If I saw your ugly mug in Westport, that would ruin it for me forever. Stay as far away from there as possible. Hideous shrew!
ReplyDeleteNot nice and unnecessary, fuckface

ReplyDeleteIt's like a neighborhood association the business owners of Westport have to pay for this. All of the business owners should move to another town and another location, this has become a mess and it seems like it's just not worth it. I feel sorry for World Market. It was good while it lasted but times have changed, sad.
^^^^ wrong, all the blacks should move to another country!
ReplyDeleteAnd the queers and the milinials and the soy boys and the fat girls and coprophilia boy and............
ReplyDelete^^^pants-shitters with no lives like you....
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh, I see you're here again my russian friend. Your chastising of the elderly gave you away.
DeleteBill O'Reilly says that mass shootings are the cost of freedom.
ReplyDeleteVladimir Putin says you're doing a good job.
DeleteBack in the day the Italians would have taken care of it .
ReplyDeleteWhy does the NAACP and Star would be against the security which has been set up in Westport. Let me explain...
ReplyDeleteThe Star is made up of writes who have no business experience and do not understand that the security screening has been a result of significant levels of crime which would ultimately lead to the decrease of the customer base you want to draw into the business area.
The NAACP sees the security check points as the future... Westport and the Crossroads business districts along with many other entertainment districts in America see the check point as the solution in keeping an element of society out of their areas. This element of our society brings violent crime and little patronage to these districts.
7:36, flowers are not a weapon. Neither is a violin. Or an empty water bottle...
ReplyDeleteThere are dozens of banned items that are not weapons. It's overreach. ruining the district.
You said that you would never go there.
ReplyDeleteTracy, please keep posting.
ReplyDeleteSly's PR firm trolls have a fast approaching expiration date.
If the Star says the cost of security will be the death of Westport, then it must be so. Because the Star certainly knows how to run a business!
