- The vote for the Kansas Republican gubernatorial nominee is becoming a bad joke.
- Right in the backyard of the radio station, homicides are up in JoCo as well and some dude was just stabbed to death in a scary murder mystery.
Moreover . . .
Don't be a hater, think logically about this one . . . Dana's screed and today's content touted diligently by BZ is relatable and sweet . . . But is it chasing away more dedicated Conservative talk radio fans on which the station was built???
The irony here is that we're also probably giving this topic too much time as well but bloggy devotion to the foibles of legacy media is part of the game and good fun whilst I go grab a sammich and we'll move on in a few moments to more serious topics.

DeleteThere are two KMBZ stations. Dana is on FM98.1, and her program director, as well as her partner, Scott Parks, are in agreement NOT to talk politics. To be lighter local fare, for the drive home.

Whereas on 980 KMBZ on the AM dial, THAT is the ALL conservative talk station. So you have the two confused.
Opposite Dana and Parks on 980 from 2 to 5 is Sean Hannity, best friend of President Trump, followed by Joe Pags.
Dana Wright is nice but she's a typical hypocritical liberal who is all for diversity as long as it's not in her neighborhood. She lives in the whitest, most segregated area of the city - Leawood and if she ever actually saw a minority, she would lock her doors and call 911. She once said her daughter could go out to eat anywhere but the Plaza - translation - She could go anywhere in Johnson County where there are very few minorities.

DeleteThe show is fun as long as they talk about fluff topics but when they debate serious topics it's boring. And Scott Parks always says I'm not going to talk about politics or Trump and then spends an hour talking about it. The show should just be fun and leave the serious stuff to the grownups.

parks could do a show for smarter people but the station obviously picked their niche and that includes dumbing down as much as they do.
i've been switching to satellite music.
I like what 98.1 FM has done as far as discussing local matters. I do not think there any local issues that are "liberal" or "conservative" so I am not sure what that matters. The Chamber is straight GOP & the mayor is a Dem, Show-me-institute is conservative & KC TIF Watch are liberals. Local issues tend to cut straight to policy and not creating more ditto heads. I am all for that. Nice story from Dana, sending your kid off to college is an emotional moment

Not talking about an NPR show but talk radio where people can discuss local issues.
Talk Radio would have to pay more for radio host rather than news readers. Besides, Nielson hyped talk radio like Rush Limbaugh for two decades. When the real numbers came out advertisers fled like rats on a sinking ship.
