KANSAS CITY HARLEY-DAVIDSON SHUT DOWN TRIGGERED DEBATE: WILL PREZ TRUMP BOYCOTT STAY WINNING OVER FADING MOTORCYCLE COMPANY?!?!
The Kansas City Harley-Davidson shut down and allegations that the company was moving local work to Thailand has resulted a historic attack on the motorcycle maker from Prez Trump that has recently escalated.
Take a look:
CNN: Trump encourages boycott against Harley-Davidson
TribLive: Harley dealers respond to Trump's support of boycotting company's motorcycles
CNBC: Cramer on Harley Davidson: When you go against Trump, you'll feel his 'wrath'
Huff Post: Trump has since repeatedly called the company out, threatening that such a move would be the “beginning of the end.”
Markets Insider: Harley-Davidson is sliding after Trump backs boycott if it moves production overseas (HOG)
And so . . .
Never mind that there are differing reports about Prez Trump merch and its origins.
Will the Prez win this fight against the Harley-Davidson and American outsourcing or is outrage against the commonplace biz practice just inviting criticism of corporate hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle???
You decide . . .
really just a matter of hours before the company backs down an offers some statement that pledges to follow the president's directives.
ReplyDeleteTrump will gloat and hold up the agreement as a sign of his success.
Then many months later when nobody is looking, they'll go ahead and move the jobs anyway.
That's the exact thing that Carrier did and the media never followed up on the tactic. Everybody got what they wanted, Trump got the win and the company cut cost. Only the fired workers were left out in the cold. Welcome to real politics, it's all just for show.
+100 @ 8:51.
DeleteTrump is a paper tiger. He'll get his pound of flesh and then move on to a different topic where he'll pull the same stunt. He's made a career out of doing pulling this stunt over and over.
The motorcycle demographic is dying off anyway. If Harley is smart they'll ignore baby trump and keep improving their products in the most cost effective way possible.
DeleteSo instead of assless chaps bikers wear skinny jeans and man buns aka douche knots?
DeleteWrong Jackass. Harley planned this move way before Trump.
ReplyDelete^^^ butt still hurts I see
ReplyDelete^^^^ Your knees still sore from blowing the Russian apologist? See you at the Midterms when Trump loses the Senate and takes a huuuuge hit in the house. Then we'll see how much everybody loves and respects Mr. Orange. I feel sorry that you'll have to watch fellow republicans tear him apart like carrion. Go ahead and look up that last work, faux news doesn't have a dictionary. We'll wait for you. Trumper Ignoramus.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I get it. It sucks to lose to what you see as an unworthy opponent. But to lose yourself and your grip on reality isn't going to get you one more vote. And votes are what you need. This is exactly why you lose and will continue losing; instead of finding a single issue that resonates outside your endless hate zone you waste your time with bile. Look that one up, MSNBC is soft on facts. :)
DeleteNo president should ever call for a boycott of an American company no matter how pissed he is at them.
ReplyDeleteThere is no demographic under 60 years old that wants Harleys anymore.
ReplyDeleteSorry to tell you that mate.
9:20 for the win!
ReplyDelete9:12 It’s good that you know the word for dead animal, because your party is carrion.
ReplyDeleteHillary 2020!
President Trump: Recklessly attacking American business.
ReplyDeleteImpeachment: 2019.
The only person besides you who thinks that impeachment is a possibility is crazy ol Maxine Waters.
DeletePlease Run her!^^^^
ReplyDeleteThe ricer driver of today won't be a Rich Urban Biker tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteSo much fail.
^^^^^^^ truism
DeleteIt's Harley Davidson so who really gives a fuck.
ReplyDelete!!:49 Trump isn't going to be impeached over a few hundred workers at a motorcycle plant losing their jobs. You fucking idiot DST laid off more workers than that and you didn't say shit about that. Maybe someday you will learn how business operates. It's always been a series of ups and downs. Besides more workers from other nations were allowed to come here to America and steal jobs from Americans and you must like how that is happening because you're not bitching about all those thousand and thousands of lost jobs for Americans there.
I think Harley would be wise not sell out their customers. Call it a new business strategy.
ReplyDeleteSoyboys love their birds.
ReplyDeleteBack in the 30’s Harley had a motorcycle plant in Japan, their biggest buyer was the Japanese military, nobody in the US knew this until the 80’s and it was barely mentioned.
ReplyDeleteHarley dug their own grave using proprietary tools, high maintenance cost to keep your warranty and questionable quality and reliability on an antique design only wanted by antique riders. Perfect storm of doom.
ReplyDeleteGood less leather Halloween characters running around with no mufflers their piece of crap bikes. Hope they go clear out of businesses annoying bunch a-holes.
ReplyDeleteIt's really great that our big man baby president wants to see American businesses fail just because they don't kowtow to his administrative goals. Cripes, how much longer does this national nightmare have to continue?
ReplyDeleteI'd think the leader of the free world would have better things to do than get involved in a boycott of... a motorcycle manufacturer.
ReplyDeleteHow many people buy motorcycles, anyway?
^^Wrong dope. I do too. So does most of America. The only ones who don't, are the geriatrics who populate this worthless blog.
ReplyDelete^^^^Most Americans buy motorcycles. Your a special case of stupid aren't you ?
ReplyDeleteDid you really just post "Most Americans buy motorcycles"?
ReplyDeleteWell at least you're correct about "a special case of stupid" being around here.
Sorta sad. I personally ride a Triumph, but I receive several bike site emails monthly. Never have been a big HD fan, but I see they are introducing some very cool machines which would have appealed to a different and younger segment of the market. Too bad because production of those bikes locally might have saved some jobs. Too little, too late for KC. Now if Sly could buy a whole bunch of Harleys, oops, sorry, they're not on Amazon.
ReplyDelete@10:50, I hope you were joking, according to the latest NHTSA figures, motorcycles make up only 3% of the motor vehicle registrations in the US.
ReplyDeleteOh, and btw, they account for 55.54% of all vehicular fatalities, and 92% of those are single vehicle accidents!
So if you weren't joking, instead of posting nonsense, why don't you fire up your hog and take a nice long road trip instead?
reality show.
