Get the guns off the streets. We need to start talking gun control NOW! A lot of you creeps are just as guilty as the people who pull the trigger when you refuse to allow any solutions to this problem and want the guns to stay on the street. It's a slaughter and innocent people are being killed. Shame that anybody thinks an AR-15 will keep them safe and would gladly sacrifice students for their gun collections.

ReplyDeleteTo get the guns off the streets, the police would flood the part of the city where the preponderance of murders and violence take place, sweep neighborhoods, stop and frisk, apply the very effective "broken windows" theory of policing, regularly raid known drug houses, press known bad guys with surveillance, and otherwise aggressively focus resources and personnel in small easily identified parts of the east side.
Surely you can't believe that the guns that are killing people are being acquired legally or through some controlled system, and virtually all the killing is being done by handguns, not AR-15s.
Stop wasting millions on ineffectual and unaccountable programs like NoVa, Aim4Peace, ad Hoc, Mothers in Charge, COMBAT, social workers, and all the rest, and hire more cops.
Unfortunately, the moment any of this occurred, the revs, usual east side "leaders", civil rights organizations, hand-wringing do-gooders, and probably people just like you would be in the streets marching and shouting about profiling, racism, and police brutality.
But let's give that a try anyway.
