Here's the latest note on the tumultuous state of the Catholic Church in the KCMO urban core . . .
Today at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Parish an announcement from Bishop James V. Johnston Jr. declared that a priest who formerly served their community was relieved of his duties pending an investigation of a "non-consensual" relationship with a female in another congregation.
This is the second priest in the past 5 years to have been removed after serving in this parish. The announcement was part of a reconciliation effort from the Diocese to keep the faithful more informed about allegations against the Church and to encourage anyone with information to step forward.

The bishop is obviously trying to clean up the mess that was left to him. Can't say I blame him for it. It's the right thing to do.

ReplyDeleteAnyone who buys into this story of a "God" who cares about them is sadly misinformed. Look at a map of the universe and try to find Earth. So tiny as to be invisible, yet this is where God decided to set up shop. "The Greatest Story Ever Told", indeed. Man says "God says", and please be generous when the collection plate is passed around. Millions of people murdered in the name of whatever god they pray to, but "God works in mysterious ways." is the pathetic cop out. Just keep the money coming!
ReplyDeleteIf there is no God then your murder is ok. As might makes right, and there is no universal right or wrong. Whomever has power can do as they please. Hitler was right based on a no God theory. You are nothing, your family is nothing, just dying people the world will forever forget. Or God exists and we screwed up the world by defying him and trying to make ourself like God, so we can run the world without God. So he is allowing that for a time before he returns to fix it and punish the defiant.
