TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! BLAME GAME OR BLUE WAVE??? EXPLAINING MISSOURI STATE SENATE LAUREN ARTHUR VICTORY!!!

The entire nation is taking notice of a decisive win in the middle of America that flipped a Red State stronghold.

To wit . . .

CHECK TOP PERSPECTIVES FOLLOWING THIS EPIC WIN ATTEMPTING TO JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON OR CAST BLAME!!!

First and foremost, the top Democratic politico in Missouri wants a prime spot on the winning side.

Notice Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill Admiring Lauren Arthur Winning

Congratulations Senator Arthur! It's a flip ... red to blue," Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), who faces a tough re-election fight this year, wrote on Twitter. "Thanks to all the hard work of Lauren and many volunteers we have won a state senate seat that Trump won and was held by a Republican. By a lot!! Not even close..."

And then . . .

The DNC Pile-On Offers Red State Perspective

“The latest example of the unprecedented energy we’re seeing across the country, and further proof that when we organize, we can win everywhere,” said Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez in a statement.

Even better, our blog community had a far more diverse hot take on the highly contested election . . .

Show-Me Strength From Missouri Community Support

"She won because she was smarter than her opponent and ran a better campaign. She has deeper ties to her community and recruited an army of volunteers supported by campaign staff. Some stellar fundraising didn't hurt either. But in end, she was simply a much stronger candidate."

Should We Blame The Disgraced Guv???

"If Greitens really did cause the flip, are most voters that stupid? I'm a big liberal, and recognize that both sides have bad actors. If one Democrat crashes and burns, I'm not going to vote for the next Republican..."

Don't put too much emphasis on a "Blue Wave" regarding this election, Corlew faced two real problems in Clay County.

First, he relied too much on the Standard GOP Playbook, running attack ads while Arthur pointed to accomplishments, but then Corlew doesn't have much in the way of accomplishments in office, so I guess he had to.

Secondly, and probably most important, far too many people in Clay County know Kevin Corlew!

Sadly, the MSM didn't much offer much critical analysis of the local milestone and mostly served to celebrate the win in one-sided fashion.

VOX: Another in a continuing series of Democratic special election flips.

Huff Post: It’s the 42nd state legislative seat that Democrats have turned from red to blue during Donald Trump’s presidency.

Daily Beast: Lauren Arthur won the seat Gov. Eric Greitens opened up before resigning, in part by tying her opponent to the scandal-plagued Republican.

WaPo: Why Democrats are happy with Tuesday’s primary results

The Hill: But the results are another hint that Democratic voters are motivated to show up in low-turnout elections -- a trend that could prove decisive in November's midterm elections.

And now . . . Once again we turn to our blog community for a better perspective the morning after . . .

IS THE LAUREN ARTHUR VICTORY TO BLAME ON FORMER GUV GREITENS??? AN EXPECTED OUTCOME AGAINST A LACKLUSTER GOP OPPONENT??? OR THE FIRST SIGN OF THE "BLUE WAVE" THREATENING THE POWER OF PREZ TRUMP AND REPUBLICANS???

You decide . . .

  1. Really like the comment about Corlew. That sums it up perfectly.

    1. At least one important thing from this article that we Republicans have to remember. Trump showed it to us loud and clear. Turnout is EVERYTHING.

TURNOUT is why she won. Plain and simple. If the Republicans are going to stay home, of course they'll lose.

    2. Corlew didn't do himself any favors, I agree with him on most things and I still woulldn't have bothered to vote for him. He seemed like an amateur and a caricature of a real campaign.

  2. Is it THAT hard to admit that a woman ran a better campaign than a man, Tony?

You mention it but not until the middle of the post. But that was the case, she was more qualified, a better communicator and had more support. SHE did it on her own and THAT was the deciding factor. Jeez.

is this the end for Trump?

You know they've been saying that since his campaign and his defeat of Hillary.

  3. She ran a better campaign, that's all. Shoe leather and door knocking. She or a worker came to our house 3x compared to zero for Corlew.

  6. She will do womanhood proud! (sarcasm) She is the scariest one out there, look at those dark sunken eyes. She lied during her campaign.
"I was a teacher and we didn't have money for books" - Bullshit baby. Teachers and school administrators always complain they don't have money but they live lavish lifestyles on the public dole with extravagant retirements.
Well folks in Clay County, you get what you pay for. County government administrators running wild with public money....Just like Arthur wants to do. Suckers!

    1. 1201, my wife is a teacher and it is true we spend a lot of money out of pocket buying books and supplies. Necessary items the districts don't provide. About $750/year. And on a per hour basis, she was doing 60 hrs a week because that's what it takes to do the job. Her hourly take home was $11/hr.

She is salary, so no OT.

And that "lavish pension" means she has to contribute 16-20% of her gross pay. She doesn't get social security, so that pension which really isn't much at all, is all she will get.

Nobody is getting rich as a teacher. Her first year she made $23,000 total. We moved here from down south because she could make $35,000 in MO which is considered good for this area.

  11. ^^^^ Not true

  12. ^^Yes, dummy, it is true. Unless you can provide evidence to the contrary, maybe just say thank you to a teacher and shut your fucking pie hole. Copy that?

    ReplyDelete
  13. “Teachers live lavish lifestyles with extravagant retirements” You sir couldn’t be further from the truth, but like most republicans cutting education to dumb down society so you can govern on fear tactics is your agenda.

  14. Lets get real.

She won the #10 DEM seat, facing 24 GOP members in the senate. DEMS in MO (considering house + senate) are among the largest super minorities of any of the 50 state legislatures. Stated simply, Missouri DEMS rank at the VERY BOTTOM of party performance in the US.

Most people in Clay County know it remains a 50-50 county.

Turnout was expected to be 10% and came in at 20%. Arthur did a really great job rallying DEM voters, while GOP voters stayed home.

    1. If you really want to get real, I'd suggest not buying into the hype about some 'blue wave'. Didn't happen in the primaries. Won't happen in the election. Look at what happened yesterday nationwide.

But of course it was all b.s. from the beginning, brought to you by the same people who still can't grasp Hillary's crushing defeat.

You have to have a real platform guys. You can't just hate Trump.

  15. Teachers always whine about their pay even my wife does about hers. But us and other teachers I know also take the best vacations because they have all summer to do it. Are always able to go home for Christmas as we do if my schedule allows it not to mention all the other days off during the school year. My wife or none of our other teacher friends work a 60 hour week and yes some get things for the class out of their pockets but it for things not approved by the district and are things not required for teaching the class. My wife loves her teaching job, works in a good school district but will admit not all school districts are the same.

As for who won the election that's easy to see, the one who got out and was seen the most. In short she won the popular vote. But this win isn't a clear picture about anything yet. Oh yes the democrapers will run it out on a rail as being so but in the end it's like a lot of things in Missouri. It don't prove or mean a damn thing.

Just look at who the readers are raising hell about in here all the time running local government is, Yup you guessed it right they are all Democrapers with Cleaver at the head of the wasteful money spenders.

  16. @ 1:39 It's the liberal school teachers who dumb down society not the republicans, of which she was one. Fear tactics is what the democrats do to our enemies like uranium one, and the Iran deal!

And to you @1:13 say thanks to a teacher????? Not a chance, they are overpaid and lazy people who abuse more than they teach, and most of them are extremely ignorant indoctrinating kids with progressive bull crap!

  19. ^^^Umm wrong. 42 state legislative seats have flipped from red to blue during Trump's presidency. You can look that up dolt. You are hopeless out of touch as to be irrelevant. Keep you ignorant head in the sand, that way you never see it coming!

    1. Oh, junior. No one told you that 1,000 state legislature seats were lost by the dems during Obama's tenure? So I'd say that 42 is a very impressive drop in the bucket. St. Obama and his negative coattails are the main reason the dems are in their worst shape since the 1920's. Oh, reality is so difficult sometimes. :)

Anyway, back to the point. No blue wave yesterday and none when it matters.

You do understand Hillary lost, right? Hillary doesn't. Thanks. ;)

  20. ^^Who's talking the Obama years, and how in the fuck does that even matter now??? Goddamn dude, stay on topic! You're talking 10 years ago!!! None of that is relevant in the least!! It's a different world. I know time lapses can be confusing to geriatrics like yourself, but at least try to stay in this decade!!! Wow. SMH.

    1. Hee hee. I love it when you lose, and you do it often. You completely lose your shit! Poor baby.

Anyway, let me explain to you since you're kinda stupid. The Dems are far, far behind because Obama lost so many seats. You do understand 42 is a LOT less than 1000, right?

Wait. Are you a Democrat strategist? You're certainly clueless enough.

Too much fun. Care to try again? :)

  35. Lauren did a great job complaining. End of story. As for slaves, the rich owned nearly everybody. They profited from slavery and also the indentured servitude of many whites.

Keep on thinking of things purely as racial and you're just going to get ripped off.

  36. Sorry Clay County, I've got a diverse family, all my friends do too, and we're all northlanders, so if the water is getting to muddy for ya, looks like you need to accept it or start headin' out the Lawson/ Lathrop way.

  37. The Silvey senate district is liberal and union based. So a repub has to be pro union which Corlew did vote their way in RTW, but as had been told, Unions stick with their Dems, no matter what. That's why both Dems and union are failing across the county. Corlew came out against Greitens who won Clay County and a few us decided to let Corlew spin.

  38. TJ Berry is getting concerned I bet. He is a fairly vanilla Republican that should really be thinking about his chances at reelection.
