I've read a lot about the Starbucks drama and their racial training day this week . . . However . . .

TODAY A TKC READER OFFERS A SCATHING INDICTMENT OF THE COFFEE GIANT THAT'S ABOUT HIGH FINANCE AND THE LACK OF CORPORATE DIVERSITY WHILST THE REST OF US SLUG IT OUT ON THE GROUND LEVEL!!!

Seriously one of the smartest things I've read on the topic. Penned by a denizen of this blog community smart enough to know that the most important color often kept out of most debates is GREEN. Special thanks for this word that pairs well with cheap coffee:

Is everyone now just nauseous listening to Starbucks pander to their politically-left consumer demographic?

Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse restaurant in the world with over 20,000 locations in more than 60 countries worldwide. The restaurant is very trendy today and has a perception of providing quality coffee products. Because of that, Starbucks prices are higher than what you would expect to pay for a coffee at other fast food restaurants. A recent study claimed that millennials are spending more on their coffee purchases than they're putting into retirement savings.

Don't misunderstand, I know why Starbucks management has felt the need to repeatedly stoop so low, it's ALL about continuing their franchise of overpriced coffee. When you've successfully convinced a generation of progressives to fork over $3 to 5 dollars for their coffee fix, you'll do whatever it takes to keep that black gold flowing.

Starbucks executive chairman Howard Schultz is worth about 3 billion dollars (right on President Trump's level), and still rakes in salary of 22 million a year after turning over the CEO role to Kevin Johnson in 2017. In a recent year ranking, Forbes magazine had Schultz listed as the 232nd richest person in the United States. Personally, I get a kick out of thinking about all the young progressives across the country sitting in Starbucks locations talking trash about Trump while billionaires like Schultz and the Clinton's rape them with a smile on their face and a pledge to support diversity and inclusion.

Here's an interesting factoid for you:

- Starbucks had sales of 23 billion dollars last year; with income of 4.5 billion, on gross margins of 59-percent.

- McDonald's had sales of 22 billion dollars last year; with income of 6 billion, on gross margins of 48-percent.

- Wal-Mart had sales of 505 billion dollars last year; with income of nearly 9 billion, on gross margins of 25-percent.

After working with investment banker Dan Levitan to take Starbucks public in the financial markets, Schultz partnered with Levitan to start Maveron, LLC, a venture capital firm. Can you guess how many black people are listed as principals at the Maveron website? If you said ZERO, you get a free cup of coffee!

Do you understand how Starbucks is actually a wealthy parasite, feeding on their ignorant, but trendy, customers? And in full disclosure, I'm not a coffee hater, I usually stop by any of my local, convenient, low-priced, apolitical QuikTrip locations. To each his own I suppose.
