SHAME!!! KANSAS CITY STAR HACK HOOPZ SUFFERS ATTACK FROM RACIST HATER IN SCATHING LETTER SHE PROUDLY TWEETS!!!
In a tweet that's going viral, Kansas City Star scribe Jeneé "Hoopz" Osterheldt shares a horrific letter which offers a contemptuous appraisal of her writing skill.
Background . . .
Our TKC blog community calls her Hoopz because of her horrible fashion choices and a great many former newsie hacks are bitter that she has a jorb whilst they have been cast aside long ago. Anyhoo . . .
The letter is pretty standard hateration and offers a deplorable critique of her writing skill and rhetorical abilities.

Now, shh, before you even start . . . Earlier today we wrote a brief tidbit about a tiny bit of hateration thrown our way knowing that this story was on deck and to remind gentle readers that the world is, in fact, full of haters - Just ask Nickelback . . . Still, in consideration of every viewpoint, we should note that the shameful legacy of race hoaxes is a topic that also, at least briefly, needs to be a part of any discussion of hateful talk.
Nevertheless, this note raises some questions and observations:
- Why is Hoopz reading publisher Tony Berg's mail??? She didn't really explain.
- The tweetstorm that ensued was filled with more reasonable discussion - Some of which supported the letter in question . . . Again, odd.
- For better or worse, this is the most popular bit of content Hoopz has produced all year and, initially, it only includes two words from her side of the debate.
Take a look at the tweet in context for those she hasn't blocked or who know how to use the Internets more capably than newspaper journalists:
Now, obviously the merits of the nasty letter aren't even up for debate -- That kind of garbage is easy to dismiss.
But the steady stream of hateration directed toward local newspaper editorialists raises an honest question about the push back that's often directed agaisnt Kansas City Star hacks . . .
IS THE NEWSPAPER SETTING UP THEIR COLUMNISTS FOR HATE BY FAILING TO OFFER ANY REPRESENTATION FOR CONSERVATIVES OR TAX FIGHTERS?!?!
That's not to say that giving into haters is the way to go . . . HOWEVER, the question of bias has continually dogged the editorial pages of Kansas City's so-called paper of record and the response has been to retreat into a liberal bunker mentality rather than engage their audience.
The reality is that's there's not even a token voice to balance the completely liberal, civic cheerleader slant of the Kansas City Star. To be fair, it might not matter because not even the ghost of Barry Goldwater is gonna save daily print media from its inevitable demise as a viable form of mass communication.
Still, as the newspaper transitions to a mostly digital information source the topic of balance becomes more even more important for any organization that doesn't want to fade away into an irrelevant niche market - Like Juggs magazine or TV guide.
You decide . . .
Not a fan of Jeneé but she doesn't deserve that. The other tweets that followed up were far more relevant and on point. Noticed that she wasn't up to handling those comments.
ReplyDelete^^^ Hate is hate a$$h*le.
Delete^^ and dumb is dumb. The reporters they fired in order to keep her probably merits some cussing.
DeleteThink you skipped over a good point here Tk. Here tweets are much more popular than her columns. Maybe that's what the Star should publish because that's what people really want to read. Nobody ever went broke by giving people what they want.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone really surprised? She gets all that and more on here every time you link a story about her. Most readers of the Star and this blog are geriatric fucktards, and as most know, geriatric fucktards are racist and dumb as shit.

ReplyDeleteSelf-aggrandizing #Hoax
ReplyDeleteWho reads their boss's emails? No one.
ReplyDeleteAnother hoax for a sinking ship. This bitch got a taste of her own medicine. She fucking called rap "our music." Bitch is half white!
Anonymous Anonymous just who sent it ?
ReplyDeleteJust more race baiting by the kc star.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone think this letter is legit? It's typed and typically stuff like this turns out to be someone pretending to be outraged to draw sympathy. This feels like a hoax
ReplyDeleteMore ethnic fodder, playing the same chord at continium.
ReplyDeleteWithout paper invisible racialists jennay wouldnt have shit to discuss.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t there enough houses to fix in the shithole hood? Sounds like a deal to let them find people to steal from.
ReplyDeleteFake news me thinks!
ReplyDelete^^^^^^Perhaps she is trying to save her job. Reminds me of the reporter in "Meet John Doe."
ReplyDeleteThe coward who wrote this wouldn't even sign his name.
ReplyDelete"No wonder white people hate niggers."
I'm white, & I don't hate black people, but I do hate racists.
Tony is partly responsible for this attack, because he gives these racial haters a forum where they can get affirmation from fellow travelers. About once a week he invites his readers to hate on her.
Of course the geriatric response is "fake" They have been conditioned by their master-Daddy Drumpf to de-legitimize all negative news, or information that does not fit in to their narrow mindset.. Typical repubturd mentality.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t been conditioned by the POTUS, but rather by the numerous “attacks” like this, most of which end up being fake. The vandalized KC church and the vandalized car at KSU are just two examples of what I’m talking about.
DeleteAnd everyday you give us reason to hate you Byron Funkhouser!
ReplyDelete"The reality is that's there's not even a token voice to balance the completely liberal, civic cheerleader slant of the Kansas City Star."
ReplyDeleteJenee' posts a letter showing absolute racism directed at her. Tony, in all his wisdow, replies with the above.
Even by mistake, conservatives always seem to suggest they believe to be conservative today is to be racist.
It’s a hoax. The left does this sort of thing all the time.
ReplyDeleteYeah whatever Byron, and YOU are partly responsible for the guy that shot GOP Rep. Steve Scalise. Don't like what I have to say? Tough.
ReplyDeleteWhen you stir the race pot like Hoopz and the Star does all the time getting letters likes this should almost be a daily event. Sometimes you reap in return that which you have planted to begin with.
ReplyDeleteHey Stupor Dave you didn't sign your letter there.
ReplyDeleteBut Tony you STILL don't know what's really up with her, do you?
The n-word is unique in the English language. On one hand, it is the ultimate insult- a word that has tormented generations of African Americans. Yet over time, it has become a popular term of endearment by the descendents of the very people who once had to endure it. Among many young people today—black and white—the n-word can mean friend.
ReplyDeleteMinority

Kontrol
11:51 is right to an extent, but the irony is that the "WORD" only has potency because of the power given to it by African-Americans!
ReplyDeleteIf there could somehow be a realization that the word is, in and of itself, nothing more than a demonstration of the ignorance and futile hatred of the frustrated powerless frightened little coward saying it, then both THE WORD and its SPEAKER become pitiful little JOKES!
Don't give the Word or them any power over you and your feelings, and you expose them for what they are!
React as they hope, and you EMPOWER them and their racism instead!
The power to end their hold on you is in your hands!
FREE YOURSELVES!
HAVE PRIDE IN YOURSELF!
CAST OFF THEIR VERBAL CHAINS!
Definitely a silly, clumsy hoax. Even if legit, so what? One loony racist letter and Hoopz assumes the accustomed perpetual grievance posture. How long have you been a reporter, sweetie? If this is the first weirdo letter you've gotten then you're even less popular than I thought.
ReplyDeleteBut, a hoax for attention from a one-trick pony. Hoopz can only write with wounded narcissism about one subject; whatever fraction of her heritage is black.
Look around. The white guilt market is dying, dying, dead. :)
Jennee. probably wrote the letter. That’s why it’s not signed.
ReplyDeleteNow publish any essay by Ta Nehisi Coates. A black bigot will balance out the letter from the white bigot and bring things back to normal.
ReplyDeleteThediversitydiva@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteIt's fake
ReplyDeleteDo I think Jenee may have wrote this letter? Sure I think she is very capable of doing such. Appears I'm not the only one to think along these lines. Jenee has always struck me as someone who needs a lot of attention and if she isn't getting it she will drum up some for herself. Some really good journalists are out of jobs and this racially obsesed woman gets to keep hers. MAGA by casting to the side media degenerates like Jenee and getting good decent writers back on the job who know how to report and print the facts and truth and not a lot of lies and made up hearsay.
ReplyDeleteHoopz probably wrote that letter while she was eating at Applebees waiting for the slightest insult that could be called racist.
ReplyDelete^^You probably wrote this while stinking up the library as you have no electricity and computer in your rented trailer.
ReplyDeletePerhaps she is the Tawana Brawley of the Star.
ReplyDelete^^Perhaps you are the Wilford Brimley of TKC?
ReplyDeletePARANOID HOOPZ, FEARING NEXT ROUND OF LAYOFFS, RESORTS TO PLAYING RACIST CARD...ON HERSELF?
ReplyDeleteLet me demonstrate some highly suspicious aspects of this alleged racist attack:
1) It's a physical letter? For crying out loud, that screams RED FLAG.
2) It's addressed to Tony Berg? Liberal Democrat white male Tony Berg? Exactly the type that Hoopz has made a career out of regurgitating her "poor black girl" hard-luck story to over the years. If the writer was pissed at Hoopz, wouldn't you be unloading your diatribe on her? RED FLAG NUMBER 2
3) Please note that Mr. Berg's name, title, and complete address (even 9 digit zip code!) contain no errors. Hoopz' full name is spelled correctly as well. RED FLAG NUMBER 3
4) "No wonder White people still hate NIGGERS." This is what's called "hitting them over the head with a 2X4" in the field of FAUX OUTRAGE letters. Supposedly the racist writer takes strong issue with Hoopz herself, so why bring the entire black and white races into the fight? Obviously, this was done purposely to elicit a hoped for outpouring of support for the one being attacked. RED FLAG NUMBER 4
5) "And no wonder Police officers beat the shit out them." WTF? I thought the writer was upset with Hoopz? Why bring police into this dogfight? Clearly, the intent here was to ensure that if Tactic 4 (above) didn't bring enough sympathy toward Hoopz, this point would rile up the Black Lives Matter social activist crowd. RED FLAG NUMBER 5
6) Later, to reinforce the impression that this racist writer is an ignorant spigot of hate speech, please note the purposeful misspellings or grammatical errors which magically appear towards the end, after being an exemplary English language student to that point. This is also a hallmark commonly found in phony letters submitted to disguise the actual intent of the source. RED FLAG NUMBER 6
So did Hoopz, or her ally, compose this racist screed in an attempt to buy her a little more time at the Star? We'll likely never know, unless that NSA surveillance footage gets leaked to TKC, showing her dropping the letter in the mail slot. As for myself, given the plethora of red flags contained in this short letter, I'm leaning toward Team Hoopz being the perpetrator of this self-directed racism.
^^way too long/did not read.
ReplyDeletePhony baloney.
ReplyDeleteHoopz writing this proves she is even more stupid and mentally ill than everybody already thinks she is. She is one sick bitch and need psycological help.
ReplyDelete2:13 FTW!
ReplyDelete2:13 Excellent!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd blieron still can’t handle the truth
ReplyDeleteIf the Star wants to generate readership get some local racial incident going.
ReplyDeleteViewership went way up for CNN during the LA Riots.
Think of the increase in advertising rates.
ReplyDeleteWow this is entertainment at it's best, pretty scary too.
Maybe some of those liberals in Central Hyde Park wrote it they are more racist than Hillary's Robert Byrd.
Was this reported to the police? The letter seems very threatening and media companies take this stuff very seriously, as do police. Letters like this are taken as a threat. I would like to see an investigation into who is responsible for this to see if it truly is a hoax or not.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Jenee going, Tony?
ReplyDeleteYou mean you don't know?

Hoopz is more racist than any of you people.
ReplyDeleteI'm white. At uni I was playing bball with some ghetto blacks (back when that was relatively harmless to do). There was one, Big James, who would constantly be hollering, "give it to my nigga under the basket" meaning me. It never bothered me, but for damn sure I never used it in response back, watch all of them turn in an instant. I was typically the only white out there. Also played prison football with em a few times, which is to say, no gear, no refs and rules that were made up on the spot. You had to be tough. Sometimes I miss those days. Here, in KC, I wouldn't even think of stepping foot on a ghetto court with outright hatred emanating from blacks.
ReplyDeleteJenee used to write a decent article now and then before she went to Harvard. After her Harvard stint her output has gone downhill and focused exclusively on racial misdoings and playing the victim card.
ReplyDeleteNobody deserves that tone of letter and Tony is correct in that their is no way the Star will provide an alternate viewpoint. The Star is nothing more than a liberal rag supporting city hall agenda. Mayor Slie's second bullhorn.

Definitely agree that Hoop's writings have taken on a more sinister tone since Harvard. Maybe she was trying to emulate Rachel Dolezal and failed or upset that some east coast rag would not hire her and she is stuck in killa city.
ReplyDeleteWell done Tony.
failed or upset that some east coast rag would not hire her and she is stuck in killa city.
ReplyDeleteWRONG AGAIN, BRENDA STARR!!
She’s so bad she has to make shit up to get noticed, sad
ReplyDeleteWhat’s sad is she thinks she should be noticed, but this is the only way she can feed her ego by pulling stunts like this
ReplyDelete3:15 there are a helluva lot more conservative Republicans in central Hyde park than you think. Check the voting records.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about that
Delete6:14 Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteYeah I heard she took a job at the Baltimore Sun. It was announced yesterday.
ReplyDeleteBut how would Tony know that when nobody at The Star talks to him?
Wildman @6:25, you think that anybody cares about her career moves or where she goes? If anything Tony is probably sad that she's leaving because she was one of his best unpaid local columnists. Her new job is a factoid at best. You could learn a lot about journalism from Tony but you're too busy pretending to be important.
DeleteWell Greedo you could learn a lot about decent food but you're too busy consuming Tony's feces all day.
DeleteSo there's that.
I am on board with the likelihood that Hoopz wrote this and hopes it will get some national run. Then she might get her a regular spot on PMSNBC or at least NLPR. I doubt that any Star reader would take her seriously enough to be offended. She is a younger female rhyme less version of Al Sharpton.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree with @6:27. A lot of these comments have made it obvious that the letter is definitely suspect.
