KANSAS CITY OLD SCHOOL LATE NIGHT

That's an image of Kansas City Main Street 1951 swiped from propagandist City Hall social media denizens . . . And here's more than a few topics to consider for the overnight.

My weekly attempt to identify a weakness in Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes continues to fascinate me on a weekly basis. Mahomes is a quarterback with one, measly professional start to his name (OK, it was a good start at that), yet locally, the general manager has called him "one of the best players" he has ever seen and nationally, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller has deemed it "officially time to buy the hype."

  5. A simpler time in Kansas City's history to be sure but still buy this time the move to the suburbs had already started and we were beginning to see the outset of the blank which we are still having to confront. In less than five years from the time this photo was taken the streetcar would be nearly out of commission and mostly abandon. People had already started relying on their cars as the main source of transportation. Still, there's no doubt that things were bustling in Kansas City's downtown at this point and despite the billions of dollars that we've poured into the area surrounding the streetcar, this kind of activity is rarely the case and only takes place when there is a widely promoted and usually subsidized event.
