ReplyDeleteHere's the likely take: a black was robbing a store, potentially without using a gun. A white bystander, CCW license holder, drew his weapon and detained the would be robber with his weapon upholstered and trained on the suspect. Police were called, they arrested the black robber and the white CCW holder.
Here's teh analysis: WTF is the CCW doing drawing his weapon at a robbery with no threat to his safety or those in the immediate vicinity? That's playing cowboy, and while I generally don't disagree with these actions, we're participants in a lawful society and that is not lawful. Don't get yourself in what could be significant trouble for simple robbery with no weapon, protecting the wares of a company that could give two-shits for your helping them out.
Now, if the robber has a weapon, by all means, protect yourself and those in your immediate vicinity. But do recall, the purpose of that weapon is to kill. Draw when the mortal threat is discovered, and shoot to kill. No talking, no bs'ing like some super-citizen-soldier-officer trying to use a command voice; just eliminate the threat. Steel yourself against the inevitable uncomfortable feelings that come with taking the life of a homosapien; even though you are correct in action and deed.
Oak Park Mall is the hood, man.
