TKC MUST SEE!!! HISTORIC KANSAS CITY 'MARCH FOR OUR LIVES' GARNERS THOUSANDS OF SUPPORTERS!!!

Saturday belongs to proponents of limitations on 2nd Amendment gun rights after the horrific slaughter of youngsters at a Florida high school

Right now we offer a look at the highlights from today's event which maybe didn't earn as many fans as low-rent women's b-ball or a C-list hipster band BUT still achieved a massive turnout for a local political protest.

Take a peek at our tour of today's protest . . .

EPIC Kansas City Anti-Gun Turnout

More than 5,000 show up to 'March for Our Lives' in KC

Between 5,000 and 6,000 people showed up to a "March for Our Lives" rally in KC on Saturday. The rally was part of a national series of such rallies that took place in cities across the county. The event began at noon at Theis Park and was expected to end around 4 p.m.

  4. And yet last year in Kansas City there were 150 murders, more than 50% of the homicides in New York, as city with a population 17 times the size.
150 people killed right here in these marchers own back yard.
And not even half of those KCMO murders will be solved.
    Where were these folks then?
And where were the "notables" who pandered to the crowd today?
Many of who, in fact, have the responsibilities of elected office to place public safety as the highest priority and diligently and effectively work to make neighborhoods and residents much safer than they are now.
Marches and speeches are thin gruel.
Actual results require making tough decisions, leadership, and accountability.

The real FBI statistics on gun violence is that

    1. violent crime, including gun crime, is down, and has been dropping. There has not been an dramatic increase in violent crime, even after including any mass shootings. What you see is media manipulation.

    2. guns are not even in the top 10 causes of death in the United States and the US doesn't even make it into the top 20 nations in the world for gun violence.

As for the teenagers who are calling for gun control, I'm sorry but I refuse to give up my rights for their fears. i do not take the legislative advise of emotionally charged teenagers,or actors, when it comes to constitutional liberties and rights. Those who would trade freedom and liberty for a little safety deserve neither. I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said that. I tend to agree.

Sure, if you include 3rd world nations with ongoing civil wars, extreme poverty, and cartel backed drug trafficking. So, the US is not in a top 20 list with countries like Iraq, the Philippines, Columbia, Venezuela, and El Salvador. Bravo...

The fact is Americans are 25 times more likely to be killed by firearms than people in other DEVELOPED countries. Compare the US to affluent countries in Europe and Asia, and we easily lead the world in gun violence. It's not even close. U-S-A! U-S-A!

More than 25% of America’s gun homicides in 2015 happened across census blocks that contain just 1.5% of the country’s total population. People who live in these neighborhood areas face an average gun homicide rate about 400 times higher than the rate across those high-income countries.
More than half of America’s gun homicides were clustered in just 127 cities and towns, which together have less than a quarter of the nation’s population.
Researchers have found that America’s gun violence is concentrated not just geographically, but also within social networks.

  36. Re: LAWS VIOLATED AT COLUMBINE

    Dear Editor,

As the author of the unabridged guide to federal gun law, an attorney asked me to draw up a list of crimes apparently committed by the assailants at Columbine High School in Colorado. I drew up this generic list and I was surprised by how long it was:

    Premeditated murder
    Murder
    Attempted murder
    Aggravated assault
    Assault with a deadly weapon
    Assault and battery
    Assault Threatening and intimidating
    Conspiracy to commit felony
    Conspiracy to commit misdemeanor
    Aiding and abetting
    Providing firearm to minor
    Providing handgun to minor
    Possession of firearm by minor
    Possession of handgun by minor
Possession of firearm by minor without federally required permission slip from parent or guardian
Use of firearm or bomb to commit murder that is federally prosecutable
Possession of NFA weapon (sawed off shotgun)
    Manufacture of NFA weapon
    Brandishing a gun
    Brandishing a bomb
    Possession of bomb making materials
    Possession of explosives
    Possession of explosives by minor
Possession of explosives with malicious intent
    Making of explosives
    Placing of explosives
    Use of explosives
    Concealed carry without permit
    Gun on school grounds
    Another gun on school grounds
Yet another gun on school grounds
Possession of ammunition on school grounds
    Fraudulently obtaining guns and ammo
    Discharging firearm in city limits
Discharging firearm on school grounds with reckless disregard for another person's safety
    Disturbing the peace
    Committing a hate crime
Multiple counts of all of the above
Multiple torts (harm suffered that is subject to civil lawsuits; Colorado prohibits lawyers from soliciting clients within 30 days of an injury, but out-of-state lawyers were reportedly calling relatives for potential clients within a week of the event.)
Conspiracy to hijack a commercial airliner and crash it into New York City

You also have aggravating circumstances and anything a reasonable Colorado prosecutor could no doubt add to this list. For instance, Colorado law includes two to six years for the parents if they allowed the boys to possess a firearm, knowing of substantial felony risk.

In the rush to enact more laws, we perhaps overlook the fact that everything criminal about this heinous attack is already totally illegal. If you want to fix the laws, it helps to know what they are. We keep such information posted at our newly beefed-up website, gunlaws.com.Having studied this for a decade now, it seems to me that no law can stop a murderer. Only another person can do that.

It is also critical to realize that 6,000 kids brought weapons to school in 1997 (according to the Dept. of Education), in complete violation of the federal Gun-Free School Zones law -- calling for at least five years in prison -- but the kids were just sent home. One of these was Kip Kinkle, who came back the next day to commit most of the crimes listed above.

Representatives in government are well aware that we barely enforce the perfectly good laws we have. Ask them why. And what, you must wonder, is their motive for instantly seeking more laws? What other agendas could they possibly have, using a tragedy to stir up support?

  47. In 1931, Weimar authorities discovered plans for a Nazi takeover in which Jews would be denied food and persons refusing to surrender their guns within 24 hours would be executed. They were written by Werner Best, a future Gestapo official. In reaction to such threats, the government authorized the registration of all firearms and the confiscation thereof, if required for “public safety.” The interior minister warned that the records must not fall into the hands of any extremist group.

In 1933, the ultimate extremist group, led by Adolf Hitler, seized power and used the records to identify, disarm, and attack political opponents and Jews. Constitutional rights were suspended, and mass searches for and seizures of guns and dissident publications ensued. Police revoked gun licenses of Social Democrats and others who were not “politically reliable.”

  54. I listened to several interviews involving these rug rats and one thing is clear: There doesn't seem to be much clarity on exactly what the demonstration was about and although the majority wanted something done to end school violence the folks who seem to be pushing the anti-gun agenda are the freaking lbtard adults. Too bad they use these kids to capitalize and gin up drama on their political agenda, but that is exactly what the lunatic fringe has been doing for months.

It is clear that almost none of the anti gun nuts are educated enough to clarify what an assault weapon is - nor do they grasp that there are literally hundreds of firearms on the market that can be made to fire fully automatic with little modification or knowledge whatsoever. This whole assault weapon thing seems to be more about making a few cry babies feel better than actually addressing the problem - which is NUTBALLS! When we stop making excuses for unacceptable human behavior perhaps we will start moving in the right direction. Until then you can demonstrate your ass off and ban as many firearms as you wish . In doing so the NUTS (which need to be identified and countered) are still out there.
