Police have to beg like paupers for more dispatchers but, like it or not, the Fire Department earns major league compensation for their life saving work that involves fewer fires but still protects KCMO in more of an emergency medical care role . . . Checkit:
New audit shows KCFD overtime pay continues to rise, higher than in cities of similar size
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A new audit shows that overtime pay at the Kansas City Fire Department continues to rise. In 2017, more than $16 million was spent in overtime pay. That's more than double the budgeted amount. The audit was released during a city council committee meeting Wednesday morning.
How dare you question the Great and Mighty KCFD. Don't you know that everyone just complains until they need the KCFD? And what if they decide not to show up to punish you for you insolence. You all could die.

Privatize the EMS, and bring back MAST.

DeleteNothing to see here just cookin' the books, move along now.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't make any sense. If the books are "cooked," then the audit wouldn't find anything
DeleteInstead of spending 4mil for a police memorial hire more 911 dispatchers.Dah!
ReplyDeleteIf we don't cough up the dough for FD, there will be unexplained fires all over the city. Pay up or burn up.
