Tonight, Hollywood stars wear black in order to protest their remarkably privileged lives. Meanwhile in Kansas City there is far less ambiguity about the divisive and changing politics of our region going into Midterm 2018 elections.
Just a few slap fights confronting this town in the coming year . . .
- Right-wing rage targets Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill but she might not be an underdog because her challenger is a big of a middle-of-the road nobody who would rather challenge Missouri residency requirements than simply play by the rules.
- It's the economy, stupid: Never forget that partisan drama is for the plebs and a corporate agenda dominates all residents of Kansas City despite their silly beliefs and/or principals. In 2018 - The economy could save the Prez Trump agenda OR progressives seem to hope that a suspected "Trump recession" will change the hearts and minds of the voting public.
- From the toy train to the glass & plastic airport - So many Kansas City ponzi schemes are dependent on money from the Prez Trump administration. While a coalition of local political leaders promised to #RESIST in 2017 - The future of Kansas City development actually depends cooperation and support from the White House. And so, smarter elected leaders might strike a more conciliatory tone despite the ramped-up silly season rhetoric.
We hope to watch it all unfold and welcome the insight of KICK-ASS TKC READERS along the way. As always, thanks for reading this week and we'll try our best to have more for the Monday morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!
