One last work-week insight and a consideration of local power players who stood above the rest . . .
Councilwoman Heather Hall

This was a big week for Council Lady Heather Hall . . . She sent word to her constituents that she's one of the few people to keep track of the #NewKCI hot mess in the making with a critical eye AND she kept good on a promise to provide more services for the Northland. All things considered, this avowed Conservative might be the last hope for Kansas City tax fighters.
Mayor Sly James

He's not the "king" of Kansas City but there's that he's the top spokesman for the corporate agenda which now dominates City Hall and taxpayer cash by proxy.
Mike Shanin
Mr. Shanin doesn't get enough credit for the amazing service he provides Kansas City. Nearly every week he poses tough questions to local leaders and political consultants while leading one of the most respected forums in the metro. He's one of our local media heroes and he has earned a great deal of respect for his fact checking.
Accordingly, as we fly like an eagle into the future . . .
As always, this list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people.
Shanin does an amazing job. He is one of KC's best. Good call Tk.
ReplyDeleteMike is a class-act. No doubt about it!
DeleteI won't dispute the work he's already done. But really find his show more informative when it's not packed with political consultants. When he talks to real people. That's when he's at his best! That's what most "journalists" in KC aren't doing.
DeleteThis is the week when Kansas City decided that bankruptcy was it's best option. The week that we believed that we should be people who travel out of glass houses. It was one of the most significant weeks in KCMO history, glad that a few people realize it.
ReplyDeleteReally? Where are they?
ReplyDeleteSly fighting a proxy war.
ReplyDeleteShan in is the best. More in his profession should take his lead
