Just a bit of local rain has flooded local streets and put lives in danger this morning.
Moments ago, local TV watchers witnessed a heroic rescue given that a great deal of the Southland is submerged at the time of this writing.
And so, early this morning we are reminded that both the Kansas City grid and the sewer system, like a pair of emo twins during their freshman year away at college, can't handle even the slightest strain. Or whatever bad analogy works for you . . .
The point here . . .
ONGOING KANSAS CITY BAD WEATHER REVEALS EVEN MORE OLD AND BUSTED INFRASTRUCTURE!!!
There are a few more POWER OUTAGES reported, a great deal of the urban core is a puddle this morning AND don't expect any help getting those branches in city streets cleared.
Check the preliminary news roundup . . .

OF COURSE the sewers failed.
ReplyDeleteThey always do.
Why fix them when you can build a new hotel first?
Great! Another flood situation in Brookside! Three feet of water in my back yard, outside door to basement destroyed , and water in the basement and the garage. I thought the Brush Creek project was supposed to take care of this. Burns and Mac can't engineer themselves out of a wet paper bag.......we're going to trust them with an airport ???????
ReplyDeleteAttn: Voters - some of you keep voting for these whack ideas that come out of City Hall. Sorry if you suffered a loss of property, but you keep saying YES when you should be saying "Hell, no".
ReplyDeleteSurely the trolley can help in some way?
ReplyDeleteWill the new airport suffice as a refugee camp as well?
ReplyDeleteThanks Sly!
This site is like Drudge Report for meth heads and trolls.
ReplyDeleteKansas City unable to stop God.....SHAME!!!!
ReplyDeleteCity hall up a little early 7:21?
ReplyDelete7:21, so are you a meth head or a troll, or both?
ReplyDeleteThis just in, 7" of rain is a "just a bit."
ReplyDeleteNext up: Noah reports the Great Flood was "a Spring shower," only on TKC!!!
My God another natural disaster-this is all Sly's fault!(says the moron crew of TKC)
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^ More City Hall damage control.
ReplyDeleteFox4 doing GREAT ongoing live coverage, 103rd & Wornall Coach's Bar & Grill rescuing two owners of Coach's--trapped inside, firefighters went by rubber odiak boats with ladders and chain saw, cutting hole in the ROOF to extract them.
ReplyDeleteDarby, who just lost his father, now says (via phone from being trapped in attic), Coach's is a total loss, done at this location.
@8:04AM-another member of the moron patrol heard from.
ReplyDelete^^^^Hey jackoff, only morons in this town are those like you who keep voting the shit we have in office now. How about you going and getting a job today.
ReplyDelete@7:48 (x2): I love me some C10H15N whether it be snorted, smoked, or injected.
ReplyDeleteYours in the bonds,

KC needs more public art projects, like a giant umbrella over the city... think rolling roof for the sports complex only bigger. The new animal shelter and airport won't even need a roof! Where is clay shitstain to get this on the ballot?
ReplyDelete@8:29-funny you telling someone else to get a job!! You've been posting on here all morning. You are a proud member of the moron crew aren't you?
ReplyDeleteTotally blame Sly for this, he's more concerned about building Burke's hotel. That is a FACT.
ReplyDelete@4:29Am-Don't know how the sewers figured in this when the FUCKING CREEK OVERFLOWED!!! Sure though blame the city. You fucking moron.
ReplyDeletePolish Sly's shoes and get him another entree!!
DeleteIt's called overflow control plan.
DeleteWe need more costly high tech sensors installed all over the place to accurately measure rainfall.
ReplyDeleteWeez need dat smart city shit or elze weez gunna be left behind!
ReplyDeleteIn All truthfulness & fairness 7 inches of rain is far more than any spring shower 7 inches of rain is going to cause problems anywhere people let's all get together on this stop acting like idiots. Reminds me a lot of Congress
ReplyDeleteI was impressed by Brian Darby and Christy's humble and honest comments to Fox4 after their rooftop rescue from Coach's. "It was stupid. We put our lives in danger, and the firefighters, and upset our families--trying to salvage PROPERTY. I am embarrassed and grateful."
ReplyDeleteTrue, they had no idea the wall and front window would collapse, letting 5 feet and more of water into the bar all at once. (They were standing in 18 inches at the time." Still, considering electrical risks, they didn't have enough reason to be there. Good lesson for all of us. In an emergency, evacuate or walk away. Condolences to Brian Darby, whose father, Mike, was murdered three months ago on Indian Creek Trail. He has lost many memories from building that original Coach's business at that location. But it's a flood zone and should not be rebuilt. Hope they relocate to higher ground.
Dear local T.V. stations--- Me thinks whatever viewers you have left of your local "news" whose numbers decrease by the day would greatly appreciate it if you would mandate that your "Barbie" and "Ken" doll cutout recently an intern "reporters" and anchor "news readers"go back to H.S. for an English class, public speaking class and most importantly a class in extemporaneous speaking.. I'm still trying to figure out "chopping wood with a chain saw", that "wet water' "cold fire" etc. etc. but what really grinds my gears is how they use the word "busted" instead of break and broke. About drugs, fine, but used with "in to" and local car chases are the worst. and maybe tomorrow i'll tell ya' to shove it about your weather.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention being unable to pronounce "Wornall."
DeleteThese people were never in danger, so how was anyone "saved"? just sit on the beer cooler for a few hours and let the water recede. Drink a few while they're still cold, then waltz right outta there like a boss. I've done it plenty of times, both with and without rising water.
ReplyDeleteRE: "like a pair of emo twins during their freshman year away at college, can't handle even the slightest strain. Or whatever bad analogy works for you . . ."
ReplyDeleteNICE!!!
"A bit of rain" says TKC? The definition of a 100 year flood in this area is 7.4 inches of rain in a 24 hour period. This was six inches (on my gauge) in about 4 hours. There is no way to design this away. My house has water in it where I haven't seen it in the 10 years I've lived there. It was just a severe (and unpredicted) major storm event.
ReplyDeleteDeer 938 I wanted to take the time to tell you no one gives a fuck about your opinion I'm sure the anchors are awaiting your thoughts on their weather forecast. Here's a thought for you, try not to take yourself in the stupid local news so serious and maybe life will become easier for you and maybe just maybe someone may give a flying fuck about something that you have to say as of now no one cares what you think or say. Why don't you go down to where some high water is and hunt for snakes. And maybe tomorrow I'll get into more of what a condescending stupid motherfucker with too much time on his hands likes to do with himself. Old boy I bet you everybody can't wait!!!!
ReplyDeleteStrike a nerve, cupcake?
DeleteAhhh the fair, lovely and always alluring alluring Tracy is back. Be still my beating heart.
ReplyDeleteYou cry babies need to get your priorities straight and focus on new hotels, 18th & vine, new airports and choo choos. Mother nature will take care of flooding. Just you never mind!
ReplyDeleteAnyone see the Missouri Highway Patrol doing any rescues? They seem notoriously absent. Before the MO Water Patrol was forced by Governor Nixon to merge, you'd see Water Patrol doing rescues in every major flood.
ReplyDeleteDoes Troy Schulte still have a job this morning? What about Terry Leeds? How many years have they known about this and have done NOTHING
ReplyDeleteYes, how many years have they known heavy rain in a short period of time causes flooding?
DeleteWhy it's practically criminal!!! I'll bet they don't even know heavy snow makes it difficult to get around? Or the sun makes things hot!!!
Boy!!!
^^^Do what exactly ??? What can you do WHEN IT RAINS 7 INCHES IN 8 HOURS YOU DUMB FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSly wants another scotch, slave.
DeleteYeah why didn't they build a GIANT RAIN CATCHER OVER KANSAS CITY???? THEY'RE INCOMPETENT!!! THEY CAN'T EVEN PREVENT THE RAIN FROM FALLING AND CAUSING A 100-YEAR FLOOD!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a group you people are retarded, or worse, all black, you're so stupid.
2:51, isn't that the same concept as Depends??!
ReplyDeleteQuestion for everyone here--
In low lying terrain, after repeated flooding, should they be allowed to rebuild?
I know that in New Orleans, Federated Insurance redlined certain areas, on one side of the Interstate, after Katrina, (can't recall now the details) but said, henceforth, we will just refuse to INSURE properties in the red zone because it's certain to flood again.
Disparate impact prevents this easy solution from being legal.
DeleteWhy is it the city's responsibility to control the flood zone? I mean those are private enterprises that decided to build and locate their business next to a creek, so either we are all for more government or we are not. Which is it you bunch of morons? Most of these lame-brained comments are fro from mouth-breathing simps who just want to bash the city. It's the same group of geriatrics who post on here all day. Their comments prove they have no fucking idea what they are talking about. This includes chuck...the "butt-hurt dummocrat" stroke victim, the homosexuality abounds tranny perv "sLIE", 'killa city" idiot and all the rest.
ReplyDeleteAnd when Andy Griffith was done railing your ugly girlfriend over the bingo table, he whistled the theme song and went down to the creek to fish with Opie!!
DeleteAhhh the fair and always alluring Tracy returns with another insightful comment. Be still my beating heart.
ReplyDeleteHere in the Dotte, we're spending EPA and local $ on Stormwater control like never before. Our area's project a little east of Kansas Speedway has been underway for two summers and the installation of larger "collector boxes" and "ducts" did their jobs near our homes last night. Al
ReplyDeletethose years BPU billed for the plan, while dozens of basements within a few blocks of ours repeatedly flooded for over 25 years. We heard the disgust and saw some exodus from this part of KCK. The Legends, fast cars, gambling and waterpark have been cussed by the flooded families plenty. We get how some in Mizzery feel about KC's resources going to P&L, Jazz district, streetcars, hotels, and a single-terminal while various floodwaters FUBAR people's lives and properties.
4:20, be VERY VERY still, his beating heart.
ReplyDeleteRemember when Southwest Blvd. used to flood all the time?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't any more, does it?
I wonder why.
(see, I know why, but you people are too dumb to explain it to.)
You Know Jack schitt fucktard can I take another Ambien drink some warm milk jack off do whatever you need to do but take your sorry ass to fucking sleep somehow and tell your little secrets to somebody who gives a fuck AKA nobody
