TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! COUNCIL DUDE SCOTT TAYLOR CONFRONTS TOUGH CHOICES AMID HIS QUEST TO BECOME THE NEXT KANSAS CITY MAYOR!!!
First and foremost, 6th District At-Large Councilman Scott Taylor leads the contest to become Mayor with an IMPRESSIVE $330K on hand before any other candidate has even filed for the office.
Now, there are locals checking these documents carefully looking for connections and potential missteps but campaign finance reporting is a boring slog and locals who rage against the "pay for play" connections they see simply don't understand the way politics works and the compromise required of EVERYONE who participates in a broken but functional Democracy ruled by big money. Translation: Given that our President still hasn't handed over his taxes let's not get too worked up over the question of how much paper work impacts voters.
So, here's something more fun . . .
KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY INSIDERS WARN THAT COUNCIL DUDE SCOTT TAYLOR MUST DECIDE IF HE'S GOING TO SUPPORT MAYOR SLY OR JOIN THE VOTING BLOC AGAINST CURRENT TAX AND SPEND AGENDA!!!
Whilst we love to call Mayor Sly a lame duck . . . There's still a lot of damage he can do before he leaves office.
The prospect of a new airport, more cash for the Downtown Hotel, the streetcar extension and a litany of development fights await Council Dude Taylor.
To wit . . .
COUNCIL DUDE SCOTT TAYLOR'S CONSIDERATION FOR KANSAS CITY'S MAYORAL JOB STARTS NOW!!!
So far he has raised a few good questions regarding the airport and it seems like this issue will be the first place he'll split with Mayor Sly but Council Dude Taylor is just as connected to the army of local lawyers and developers as the current Administration so it'll be hard to distinguish himself from all the other suits who will inevitably compete for the job.
And so, the ton of cash powering Council Dude Taylor's big career move is both a blessing and a curse as this 2019 Mayoral front runner has become a political target as well.
Developing . . .
The money will get him in trouble for a lot of reasons.
ReplyDeleteIt gives other candidates a good idea of how to start their fundraising. And it shows that he's already asking which puts him at a disadvantage for other rounds of financing.
He's just out there too early with this and he's not going to scare of people during an "open" race.
isn't it finally time for a northland mayor?
ReplyDelete^^^ Nope, you still don't have the votes yet.
ReplyDeleteNorthland Mayor please, no more corridor fix, or Cleaver and gang in perpetuity. Someone who tells the usual hogs at the trough to stay in their pens might also be nice. Maybe import someone with integrity from Denmark. If it is a local lawyer, the pooch is screwed before the game begins
ReplyDeleteWe need a qualified tranny to run to shake things up at city hall.
ReplyDeleteIf I could count on one hand the times your "insiders" have been wrong I'd need 926 hands.
ReplyDeleteI dont know anything about this guy.
ReplyDeleteAnd that "ton of cash" will have to be paid back in the form of TIFs, tax breaks, favors, etc.
ReplyDeleteTaylor is the same lawyer, corporate and democrat party hack that has run KC is created the disaster KC is today.
ReplyDeleteFunctional democracy????? Where?
ReplyDeleteTotal lightweight!!! Could and should float away!
ReplyDeleteScott Taylor bad taste in women, bad taste in politics, bad taste in previous proposals he has promoted. He has done absolutely nothing except show up and occasionally talk down his nose at the electorate.
ReplyDeleteProving once again, as though that was necessary, that in KCMO, only the names change.
ReplyDeleteNo accomplishments.
A ton of cash.
And lots of promises made...mostly to the people who gave the ton of cash.
What are you going to run for next?
For those who thought Gloria was a nightmare when the Funk was in office have yet to see the calamity that will take place if team Jolly/Taylor lands in city hall.
ReplyDeletePresident Trump might have to make a Disaster Declaration for the area known as 12th and Oak.
Scott wins by 30% of the vote. No problem.
ReplyDeleteNorthland mayor? Hell, you've got a pos northland city manager and every department directors living up north.
