A KICK-ASS graphic sent by a denizen of our TKC BLOG COMMUNITY offers an important perspective on the crisis of conscience confronting Kansas City basketball fans.
It would be too easy to throw around "trigger" words and cast aspersions on college fans desperately hoping to relive their glory days . . . Instead, let's just offer this bit of insight that hopes to encourage sports fans to look at the big picture . . .
KANSAS CITY SHOULDN'T CHEER FOR KU BASKETBALL BECAUSE THAT WOULD DISCOURAGE ANY REAL CHANGE IN THE MIDST OF A TROUBLED SEASON FILLED WITH NASTY RUN-INS WITH THE LAW!!!
The hoop dreams coming to our hometown aren't as important as the very real possibility that sports glory overshadows some a troubled program that is far too permissive with star players.
Just a bit more link evidence . . .
Deadspin: Report: Kansas Punished Women's Basketball Player, Not Josh Jackson, For Role In Bar Argument
CBS Sports: Josh Jackson not getting suspended opens double-standard talk at KU
Daily Mail: Kansas basketball star tipped for March Madness glory is accused of threatening to 'beat' a player on the women's team and vandalizing her car
LJ World: Rape of 16-year-old girl reported at KU’s McCarthy Hall, home of basketball team and other male students
KC Kingdom: Kansas Jayhawks: Police Blotter Too High a Cost for Winning
You decide . . .
Nothing to see here whitey. There are no rapes, vandalism and the usual phony degrees being issued to Black Thug NBA Wanna Be Basket Ball Players.
ReplyDeletePlease keep showing up at games and cheering on the local Thugs on the court and pretending that Thug College Athletes are choir boys who make straight A's and go on to great things in the future.
I hate jock sniffers
ReplyDeleteWhat would you expect when their mascot honors a group of thieves and murderers?
ReplyDeleteNo free college for everybody while sports rules academia.
The most offensive thing about college basketball is that it is just horrible basketball.
ReplyDeleteThe majority of these games are unwatchable garbage.
We don't need Kansas City to root for the Jayhawks. We have Jayhawks who do so, very well, thank you. Kansas City needs to focus on it's murder rate and blank-check politicians. The rest of us will go on actually winning real things.
ReplyDeleteNCAA isn't serious about violence towards women.
ReplyDeleteIf they were- they should IMMEDIATELY suspend Jackson until further notice and FIRE Bilk Selfish for not having the balls to do the right thing.
I am guessing Jackson will NEVER need the card as he is already home-free and the NCAA will look the other way.
How unfair to all of KU's opponents!
Put an asterisk to KU's NCAA season.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the NCAA leadership and enforcing violence against women?
Bully, assert privilege and point the fingers at others.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Koch/Brownback way.
Go JAYLHAWKS!
11:53--Bilk Selfish, Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteSo, like Hilly the Billy enabler, it's the power of money and the gloat of fame that matters over justice and ethics. Where's the yuuuuuge outcry by women for Jackson's mistreatment of the lady JHawk?! Oh, right, since he's the current LeBron of Lawrence and they're both black...
...plus it was O N L Y threat of bodily harm with a B I T of property damage...
...HE DIDN'T CALL HER
A
NAPPY
HEADED
HO!!!
There's a rumor going around that for every round the "Beakers" advance in the NCAA B.B. tournament that every player gets another get out of jail free card.
ReplyDeleteMore under aged girls and better dope in the dorm!
ReplyDeleteCollege sports are a business. The so-called student-athletes should be paid employees. They don't go to classes, turn in papers, or even crack a book. All that is handled by the well-funded Athletic Departments. The whole point is to win games, fill trophy cases, pump up bragging rights, and of course, make money.
ReplyDeleteIf Kansas didn't have basketball - they won't have anything!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, America loves it's criminals - just look at who was elected president - the biggest scam artist in history who colluded with Russia to get elected.
Evidence? No? Didn't think so. :)
DeleteYeah, Kansas should've elected Hillary, the vile corrupt congenital liar, whose Clinton Foundation colluded with every country in the world.
ReplyDeleteBring back the Gauntlet. No clubs only fists and whips. Run these "athletes" through two or three times and send them home.
ReplyDeleteThe only evidence are Debbie Wasserman- Schultz' and John Podesta's emails.
