In fairness, it's important to offer a look at what the supporters of $800M in GO Bonds are doing to make their case to tax weary Kansas City voters.
Accordingly . . .
Take a look at the extra special deluxe mailer going out to locals by way of Dead Tree Media stuffing, direct snail mail routes and handed out in special not-so-secret tax meetings across the city.
Right now, we want to take a cursory look at campaign literature . . .
The front cover should look familiar . . .

Inside, a three page pitch that leaves doggies as an after thought . . . Despite the fact that this is the only solid promise for the money.

Back cover offers some paltry justifications with no guarantees.
Look closely at the fine print and there's a promise of "a modest property tax increase" that's actually a lot bigger than what City Hall admits.

Still, this blog is always about providing resources for further research and voters can learn more about the tax from progresskc.com
Or, just check the junk mail bin checked at local curbs starting tomorrow.

You decide . . .
I've seen.
ReplyDeleteI've looked.
I've read.
No THANKS.
Sly has the nerve to call a 40 year tax increase "modest" that's really funny.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder he's smiling all the time.
WE WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN
ReplyDeleteIt'll pass. Nobody can say the city doesn't need repairs.
ReplyDeleteExcept you morons. Enjoy Indianapolis or Louisville or whatever negro-infested city you're moving to.
We've paid for repairs in the past and they didn't get done 3 01 is a DUMBFUCK
ReplyDeleteCarte Blanche for 20 years? Oh, maybe not.
ReplyDeleteOurs went in the trash can
ReplyDelete3:01 getting paid overtime? Dumb fucker doesn't know his/her pension is gone also?
ReplyDeleteAnother politician looking for a handout
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone can collect all the flyers, toss them into a firepit and make the Obese Bowtie into a s'more :( If the citizens approve this bond issue, they will deserve every bit of fiscal misery that it will bring to them. This observation doesnt even dwell upon the fun Sly will have dispensing 800 million dollars to his friends. It is apparent to me that the Bowtie and his co conspirators on the City Clowncil have no shame and are driven by disdain for the public and boundless greed. Shame on all of them :(
ReplyDeleteI guarantee Sly has his next gig negotiated and is looking for housing out of KCMO. He's long gone when he terms out, no skin off his silver back.
ReplyDeleteHay the flyer is marketing 101 Its,miss leading propaganda That is how they keep getting your money To keep a city this large and spread out it takes billions but most of the money goes down a big black hole and there is a vote on a sales tax increase as well The STAR is going to try to convince you If they support it it won't pass voters are on to there misleading reports there are to many alternative truthful news service with better investigative reports.
ReplyDeleteThe only momentum I have seen in KC is the numbers of those dying on the streets.
ReplyDeleteRemember how if we passed the 1% tax we would get trash bags for life?
ReplyDeleteThat was lie.
There is nothing on this about an airport and this is just the beginning.
Bite me- vote NO and help send Sly packing! No means no. He is a tax and spend Democrat that is PICTURED with protesters at the airport and the reason Trump will help build Johnson County International Airport and put KC out of the airport business.
Help Sly reel in out of control pensions and crime and. It's NO!
Rex is right- they don't need the 1% Earnings tax until they spend less.
KC is against poor people as this tax along with HIGH water bills hurts poor people.
Vote NO to stop KC hatred against poor people!
Amen! Tax and spend hurts poor people.
ReplyDeleteKC hates poor people.
Vote NO. No means No.
Taxing to raise more money in KC is like wiping your ass before you shit- it doesn't make any sense.
ReplyDeletePut Sly out of business and vote NO.
Support making KC spend responsibly. Vote NO and send The Mayor to the showers.
Sorry the vote has already been counted. Sly wins. It's the KCMO way.
ReplyDeleteIf your Dad can buy you a 375,000.00 condo downtown you don't care about stuff like this.
Recycle the flyers as doggie/puppy training papers.
ReplyDeleteI'm just curious where the opposition is on this? I see S'lie's people going door to door and handing out fliers to push the tax increase. But where is the formal opposition presenting the real facts about this scam? It's great that Tony's KC and the showmeinstitute write blogs and such. But where is the CFRG and their people passing out fliers to oppose this?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to help donate to CFRG. The City has $175,/00 plus in donations to sell This. CFRG is asking for donations to fight. They have attended many of the meetings and handed out the true facts produced in house. It takes big $$$ to do color mailers, etc. . Donate to CFRG,. 4741 Central ST. Ste #112; KCMO 64112!
